As a former Paramedic, I'm trying to figure out why none of the operators provided any guidance as to caring for the victims. Let alone the number of 911 callers and all the dispatchers asked the same questions. There should have been more instructions for the callers to try and remain calm and help care for the victims until the scene was secure enough for ems to get on scene. The police are able to provide assistance, and only the one operator at the end provided that information. Sarasota, yall need better dispatch train.

i thought the same thing and im a civ. i had heart scare a while back and dispatch walked my through getting my heart rate and all kind of stuff. im not ems so this sounds chaotic. props to yall

It may be tough, but yelling over the questions, dragging your words out to show frustration, and repeatedly stopping to demand an ambulance will always be a waste of crucial seconds

When I did the 999/911 lines we told the caller them talking to me was not delaying the rescue crews. You need to let them know they are not delaying help. TAKE CONTROL.

Ffs, dispatchers need to tell the callers help is on the way the first chance they get. The amount of times she pleaded for her to send help should never happen. Ever. All those questions the dispatcher asked are for the police’s safety so they know what they’re getting into before they show up but at a certain point that’s kinda what the cops signed up for. To protect and serve. I would not have faulted the lady for hanging up the phone the second she finally got confirmation help was actually on the way.

Can't ping the phone for location? Gimme a break. AAA does it for roadside assistance. 911 should be immediately. Ambulance should've been dispatched immediately with police.The operator wasted too much time on location etc. Should've asked details of any vehicles or suspects. Where you at? What's your name? Caller I.D. and automatically knows location of caller
