I have felt blessed to have Brian’s music in my life since I was 16. I’m now 28 and I have grown with his music as the soundtrack to my life. I’ve listened to his music through happy times, sad times and all times in between. He is a true talent, and these insights to these songs bring so many memories back. God bless you Brian. Please never stop creating and playing.

been listening to him since I was 9 when 59 Sound came out. 22 now and I feel like every album has, at some point, hit just as hard as that first one did. So happy that he's showing no sign of slowing down yet.

We must have found gaslight around the same time then, I discovered them when I was 18 and I’m now 30 Damn that makes me feel ancient

@@chewiecovers I found them in between the '59 Sound being released and the American Slang release. I will never forget the night I listened to the '59 Sound as a 16 year old. It was the best musical experience I have ever had. I have been hooked since then. Through Gaslight to The Horrible Crowes to Molly and the Zombies to now his solo stuff. I will never not be a fan.

@@tjj794 same for me, I was doing pizza delivery at the time and I constantly had 59 sound on every time I got in my car, I went and hunted down a copy of sink or swim and señor and the queen, then American Slang came out 2-3 months later, I was introducing all my friends to it, and when 45 was first played on the radio over in the uk I was going on stage with my band and made them wait just so I could hear and get an idea of what to expect on handwritten, there are 2 artists who have had a massive impact on me, Billie Joe armstrong made me want to pick up the guitar and Gaslight introduced me to soul, bruce and the whole blue collar rock movement

It’s interesting that he had so much to say about almost every song, but just played Dark Places and moved on from it without saying anything. I can imagine that song is probably incredibly tough for him to play.

It's my favourite of TGA song. It's amazing. I can never figure out why it never made it on to an album. It may have been written late in the process and they couldn't find a place for it.

My wife (who I have been with for 20 years but married like ten years ago after I was able to move to Spain) and I were going through a rough patch when this came out, so it was very poignant. But things worked out for us. Our first daughter was born a couple months after Painkillers and our second daughter was born literally TWO HOURS after Sleepwalkers was released; it was the first music she heard. We lost two babies inbetween (one right when Local Honey came out, which I didn't want to listen to precisely because of how painful it was). Our third girl is due in one month. But two weeks before she's due my wife and I will be going to Fallon's Madrid show (May 13th), which had been rescheduled twice because of Covid. Life is full of twists and turns, but Fallon's music has been with me and my family through them all and we keep rollin' and tumblin'. For nearly two years during Covid my 6yo and 4yo asked for "Stay the same" (meaning "Mae") for a lullaby at night. Truly priceless moments.

Thank you for uploading this!! It's interesting to hear him talk about why he wrote these songs and how he was feeling at the time. I love Brian Fallon's music so much because of what it means for me and how I interpreted the lyrics in regards to my own feelings and situations at the time. I love how his songs can mean one thing to mean and something completely different to someone else. Those are the best writers in my opinion.
