The true magic was turning a beer into a LaCroix without Brian even noticing!

I have a deck with a bit of roughing fluid on the backs (thank you old scam school episodes) that I can feel. I may have to try with that so I don't have to look to tell when I have their card.

get a deck that has some sort of texture on the back of the cards so you can tell if its face up just by the feel

Dude I had a dream I met Shwood last night. I completely geeked out in the dream, just like I would in real life. I've been watching Scam Nation for years, way back in the spiky Shwood days. Big fan of this format and everyone they feature on this channel. So cool, guys.

I think you are a wizard in disguise, and you only show us some of the tricks to make us not hunt you down.😄
@TheAnimatorsUnite2 жыл бұрын
I forget where I learned it, but I think there is a bob hummer trick like this. Where instead of a glimpse, you bow the cards when they are under the table. You have to deal the cards yourself, but you can do it all by touch. It also allows you to cut straight to the card, that way you can produce it whenever you want, rather than chancing it be the final card.
@jono63792 жыл бұрын
More of this please. Its a hilarious concept and i love it.

Hey, Joe. I just had a fun idea. Since it seems there's plenty of cross over in your libraries, Brian should try to fool you from your collection. A back and forth battle of forgotten magic. First one to three "foolers" wins. Loser has to charge the Alex Jones compound naked armed with frogs... okay the first part might be a good idea

I love every time Joe Diamond and Diamond Jim Tyler are in the show. They are 2 of my 4 favorite magicians ever. Brian is one of them too by the way.

I'm glad that card Magic is back on this channel !
@augustdeer2 жыл бұрын
If you give the deck a slight bend, you don’t have to glimpse the cards. You can just feel whether they’re concave or convex. For that matter, you could even bend the cards after one is taken.

while Brian was handing back cards one by one I spotted it in the under table view... Joe flipped the deck before Brian put the card back, so Brian's card was face up... OMG I LOVE IT :D

I like it! Definitely going to want to do a few warm-ups to feel your audience first and make sure they're not gonna mess things up (either accidentally or on purpose)

Joe Diamond is a genius. Reading magic isn't easy for me, I struggle to understand things from writing to doing them sometimes. So for Joe to find something that no one is doing in a book and present it so well is really cool.
@JoeDiamondLive2 жыл бұрын
This is why we do it! I hope you try out some books here & there when you feel ready, but until then, we’ll keep mining the gold for amazing folks like you!

There is such a joy in discovering gold in books. Especially when you know others own them. The essential Stewart James is a good one for this.

Maybe I have watched too many of your amazing episodes by now, but I thought the trick was VERY obvious. My guess would have been that he would pull up the deck with "all" cards face down and then do shuffles, etc. until he revealed that only one card was face up - the selected card. But that would have been even more obvious, so this presentation, while still quite easy to puzzle out, was probably better :)
@jobigoud2 жыл бұрын
You couldn't really shuffle in the open with one card face up, it would flash immediately.
@holgerchristiansen40032 жыл бұрын
@@jobigoud I know. I thought THAT would be the real trick to be demonstrated since the actual trick was just way too easy

You said that the “worst” case Scenario happened and in my opinion this was that best case scenario cause I’ve done this and it’s never happened to me Before. All u had to do at the end was say……(in a nut shell) “THATS YOUR CARD”! That would have made it crazier.

@JudithOpdebeeck2 жыл бұрын
so i doubt that this is gonna work anywhere near reliably enough, but from what i've tried so far, you might actually be able to feel it by touch. at least in the deck i'm using at the moment, the back seems to be slightly smoother, significantly enough to actually tell the difference. idunno might be worth looking into if you plan to do this a lot
@TheAnimatorsUnite2 жыл бұрын
There is a version where you bow the deck (like you are going to spring the cards) when it is under the table. You have to deal the cards, but you can definitely feel the reversed one. You can also cut to it, so you don't have to wait so long to find it.
@jobigoud2 жыл бұрын

Are there no decks that have backs that can be distinguished from fronts by touch?
@yodan00b2 жыл бұрын
there sure are. I have a pack I got last week as a souvenir that has those "3D" images (you know, lenticular images, the ones that change as you roll them back and forth) on the face side of the card, so they have a linear texture on the face side and are smooth on the back. more of a gimmick or novelty deck but you could play that into the trick =)
@lamario2 жыл бұрын
Bow the cards before the selection. When you get to the reversed selection, it will feel different than the other cards, no peek necessary.
