ND fan here during the entire BK era. He's a very CEO-ish type head coach who can turnover staff and players and turn out good teams every year and will have you in the playoffs consistently. The problem at ND was the average recruiting (mostly 3 & 4 star players) but it seems like he's recruiting 5 star players at LSU now and he'll maximize their development. You got a good HC.

The defense is WAY better. Baker is the man. The offense needs to grow. Was too predictable at crucial moments. Left points on the table....the 3 at the opening drive. ALWAYS TAKE POINTS. But the lack of discipline is a reflection of the head coach. Kelly can look in the mirror for that. Don't know the answer. But keeping guys focused, reading the team, knowing when to rein them in, knowing when the focus is getting off track. That's HIS job. And for 10mil a year, he should be an expert. Long season. That killer instinct comes from the top. GIVE US SOME PASSION. Come on BK. It's Louisiana, we expect a little more fire. Have some fun, and still go in for the kill. 11-1. This team can do it. As someone who's closer to Kelly's age than a player's, it does seem like it would be frustrating as a coach to put up with the demeanor of today's players when winning. Every time they make a play they all gotta gather round and take a picture of themselves. Heck, they even do that when losing. But in the players defense, it's been going on for years now so it's probably what they think they're supposed to do having grown up watching it on TV.

Nussmeir made so many great throws, the offensive line gave him great pass protection, so it’s hard to figure out why they had so much trouble in the red zone and in the 4th quarter, but for sure he’s going to have to run the ball occasionally to put pressure on the defenses when they are dropping back in coverage.

After LSU first touchdown they went conservative and did not push the ball down the field. After they took the lead in the second half again they did the same. I wonder if the new offensive coordinator was just following Kelly's orders to slow it down. I dont think Kelly trusts his new offensive coordinators. LSU is a talented team and I pick them to win 8 games but no playoffs this year. SoCal repeatedly used pre-snap motion in the back field to confuse defenders on crossing routes. Our safeties just couldnt adjust. Our receivers couldnt get open the closer we got to the goalline. Williams is an OK runner but Emory was the better runner last night and also going forward. Where was that dominant OL everyone was raving about? We need to go back to playing cupcakes for our first game to work out the bugs.

BK needs to round up the troops and let them know how we wants them to play football and quit with the foolishness. They were acting like kids out there most of the time and very foolish ones. Hey, do you want to win and be a part of something bigger here? Do you want to be respected as a team of champions that people want to look up to and try to emulate? If not, there's the door. We don't need children here who want to show off and act tough. We need men that are tough and want to lead other young men. I'm off my podium. As fan it was tough to watch and honestly if they would've won, maybe we wouldn't even have brought this up which is a shame in itself.

Hats off to the players of both teams they played their hearts out. It’s not just all the penalties that lsu had but if usc made that FG, it would’ve been a 10 pt difference in the game. LSU is 0-4 in season openers so far, lsu really needs to stop selecting ranked opponents for season openers, why, because y’all embarrassing y’all self on national tv, pick a not so great opponent & work on that until you can get the kinks out first, have some humble pie. And before LSU fans start saying they have this style of championship football only found in the sec, listen close your mouth & listen USC is an 11 time national football championship program, say it again, 11 times, not 3 or 4 like lsu but 11 times. If the sec didn’t have bama & ga-ja they would be just like any other conference, how about moving bama & ga-ja into our conference with USC conference along with Notre Dame, guess how many football national titles Norte Dane has, you guessed it, 11 also, now you realize that your new to the block of championship football, here’s some extra humble pie. When usc stopped lsu on 4th down in the redzone this gave them what they needed to win the game, if your 3 yards from your own end zone & you get stoped from scoring, then you have proved to your opponent that they have the better defense, basically, you helped them out, you gave them the motivation to win the game no matter how tuff it gets. USC put up 14 points in the 4th qtr, with one drive of only 3 plays scoring, easily & fast. How did they do it, well listen to what usc qb moss said at the end of the game, “after practice, we practiced our 2 minute offense & 2 minute defense in the spring & summer”. Anyway LSU can learn from this & grow. 🏈😊

As a lsu fan y’all expect way too much from our team, y’all knew we installed another defense with a whole new staff, depleted secondary, questionable d-line, no Trey Holley at rb, both oc’s first time calling plays…..I don’t like excuses but the signs definitely be there to let us know as a fan base that the team isn’t elite. I say give it another year or 2 these mediocre players like sage ryan and major burns will be gone. With these current freshmen,sophomores and incoming class we’ll be str8. Geaux Tigers

LSU gets talented football players but they have always been flashy, cocky ( which is great when you’re winning) and a little undisciplined. I think it takes a coach who can straddle the line of being tough on them but not so tough that it snuffs out that cockiness.
