Hi, Love Robs enthusiastic delivery, very well done. Not sure on next C8 (probably Grand sport) , I have a 2020 C8 with procharger stage 2, and very happy with that. Best guess money wise , this heads / cam package probably 1/2 the gain HP of a forced induction and I bet $$ wise it’s pretty close . So on my 2026 GS C8 it will be another procharger or Magna, on a list for ZR1, But we all know how difficult that will be. I currently have a 2010 and 2019 ZR1, so my fingers are crossed for next one. You guys do great work, wished I wasn’t so far from you. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you’re very happy with your Procharger setup! Heads and Cam is about half the cost of a Procharger setup but once you start adding other mods it ads up quickly. Fingers crossed for a Grand Sport, the stingray body isnt the same anymore since the wife body z06/e-ray came out. Good luck on a ZR1 and we aren’t too far, come on by! - Justin

@@ParagonPerformance, nice 1/2 the price and about 1/2 the hp gains makes sense. As much as I like that cam chop sound, not sure it’s for me. I am 66yo and prefer the quiet/ smooth power of forced induction, and I guess a person could do both and end up with a 300hp gain, curious at that point would you need to upgrade the clutch also? I have not seen what that cost, but knowing you have to pull the engine out to do it , it must be a 10k upgrade. Again thanks for all your information. And I am almost 2k miles from you. 😊

@@kurtthomas4746 Fueling would be our first concern with combining the two upgrades. We've yet to replace the clutches but if you're already pulling the engine the transmission is a few more bolts and it's separated.

Me personally because I always believe in buying the highest performance car for the money. Instead of spending thousands upgrading a stock Stingray and not getting your money back out when selling, I would simply buy a Z06.

@@brentm.8140 He likely could care less as you say. If he were smarter, he would agree with me. Joking. Modding Corvettes, Porsches, BMW's etc is always a fool's errand. Simply take that amount of wasted money, in this case, a rather copious amount with all the mods performed... not only part price but labor, and buy a higher end car. Don't be a piker and rice out your Civic. The higher you go up the food chain of car, the more egregious the violation to design intent. Modifying a Stingray or Z06 is like putting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. You can ghettoize an Eray if you like because its a POS and Chevy should be punished for their huge profit grab of cramming two powertrains in one car making it boat anchor heavy and reducing reliability. Sorry, I couldn't resist that last part.

It isn't just the sound you may or may not like. Some performance car enthusiasts like the chop. But a choppy cam mates best with a manual transmission or torque converter transmission with higher stall speed because less torque is generally available at lower RPM. That isn't what you want with a street car where optimizing launch is generally the goal, torque being king. But there is more. The C8 has a Tremec dual clutch DCT with launch control which is precisely tuned to the torque curve of a 6.2L LT2 pushrod V8 with its distinctly developed cam profile for blend of torque down low and horsepower up top. There is no torque converter one can change to mate to a given cam profile. The DCT in the C8 has hundreds of hours of development mating the launch control to LT2 and launch control feature. Calibration is digital. The launch control system optimizes clutch engagement and traction, based upon the signature of the LT2 tuning. A choppy cam changes this balance and without suitable development which can never match Chevy Engineering hours, not for the good.
