I don't know how anyone could not appreciate this performance. I saw SRV 3 times and got to meet him once at Amherst Ma in 1984 and he struck me as a real good guy who only would have approved of this show. Good music is good music, doesn't matter who is doing the playing!!!

Im a huge fan of SRV...he Is my fav. guitar player...Brian is one of my favorites...and I love this....they are havin' fun and that's real showmanship....Marty and Brian are both great guitar players and whats wrong with them showing some appreciation....Also the haters out there need to think about it...so negative. either you like it or you dont. NO NEED TO ACT LIKE ASSES ABOUT IT!

Great band. Marty is country but rocks beautifully and Brian Setzer rocks and rocks and rocks. Marty Stuart did a tv thing with John Mellencamp that is pretty darned good too. Thanks for the post and Marty and Brian!!!

Met Setzer walking about town just before his Christmas show last year, very unassuming and down to earth dude. If you have not seen Setzer play in person or with his "big band", I highly recommend it. Personally, I am just glad that someone remains so passionate about playing this style of music...

I love both of these guys and they're each great in their own way at what they do. This is the first time I've heard this, and I gotta say that it's a match made in Rockabilly Heaven if there ever was one. Both possess peerless musical pedigrees, and they're both still out there kickin' ass! If either one comes to a town near you, I strong suggest you go get yoursself a ticket and see 'em. You won't regret it, and I guarantee you'll leave smilin', nummin', andf snapping your fingers from the righteously fine grooves that took place!

I have had the pleasure of working with Marty Stewart many times in my life as I worked in the country music industry as an audio engineer for 30 years. he is a class act. an extremely nice guy, one of the best players you will ever see and can sing as well as all of his band members. No drugs..clean and sober always.

Let me tell you something Marty Stuart can play several instruments very well and Brian Setzer is a real musician who scores his own big band numbers, that being said I'm a SRV fan and loved his music dearly but these guys are in the same league and Stevie would be the first to say that himself. Stevie admired other musicians,was a humble guy and would've been tickled to meet these guys,if in fact he hadn't. He didn't have a jerky stuckup bone in his body.

I would love to meet that dude because I have a ton of questions about the old days and Lester Flatt and his times at Bean Blossom and just so many things to ask him about. He should do a share a beer series, and I get to be the first guest. I would just ask questions, I wouldn't try to play guitar with him or something cheesy like that, I'd keep it real and we would just drink beer and do shots for about 4 hours. I'd start out with Jimmy Martin and move to the Stanley Brothers and wherever else he would allow me to go like the Johnny Cash years, etc.

What a team! Marty Stuart did a crossover (I think) with John Mellencamp a few years ago and they rocked! I think Marty can play with anyone!
@DavidBDavis-lz7bt5 жыл бұрын
I do remember the one with Darius Rucker. CMT Crossroads. Always liked how he had hits with Hootie and The Blowfish, then re-invented himself as a country-western artist...and had more hits.🙂 I think he was around in the mid-to-late '70s, somewhere in that ballpark, but I first John Mellencamp in the early '80s; "Hurts So Good" and "Jack & Diane". So many hits from that man. "Pink Houses", for crying out loud!(lol). I forget the name--I'll go look it up in a sec--but I heard it on that Crossroads: "I got my trailer picked out... I'm moving it down to Grandview..."(I looked it up(lol)). "Back it on in there, boys, and don't get no mud on my front porch, 'cause the son of a bitch is brand spankin' new...".😀

When I stumbled across this I knew there would be some SRV fans who'll criticize. SRV was great, but this version is cool too! Would have been great to see SRV on stage with them, but I'm sure he was there in spirit. I also love the youtube video with SRV & Jeff Healey playing "Look at Little sister" I love SRV, but Jeff blew him away on that one!
@jeffsandy50884 жыл бұрын
You do know that Stevie was giving Jeff the spotlight. No one more humble than SRV. The only story I've ever heard about Stevie getting upset is when himself and George Thorgood was playing for Chuck Berry's birthday party and George wanted to go out on stage and blow Chuck away. Stevie told him if he tried anything then he would blow George off the stage. George fell back in line FAST !!!
