Okay, but what if he wants to enjoy his moment in the sun? People are so eager to ban musicians to their homes when they get older and more fragile. But what if he WANTS to be there? Surely he has earned that. And I seriously doubt he would be there if he didn't want to.

@@JaceyMitchell The man has dementia. I highly doubt that he was even aware of why he was there. His family and "friends" needed Brian to be there, for their own reasons.

@@jacklowe3429I care for people suffering from dementia on a daily basis. Dementia doesn't mean you've immediately lost any and all awareness of who you are or where you are, and what you enjoy or do not enjoy. This is a gradual process, it can have its ups and downs on a day by day and even hour by hour basis. And frankly none of us know how far Brian has progressed into it, or how far he had progressed at the time of this event, or what kind of day he was having at the time, so we should reserve judgment. If anything it is extremely important for people suffering from dementia to keep being as active as they can doing things they enjoy, instead of letting them wither away. You're assuming things that friendly aren't up to you, and deciding things for Brian that aren't your place to decide. If he's earned privacy and peace, then maybe stop playing doctor for him and stop deciding what he can and cannot do, and where he can or cannot be. If he's earned privacy and peace, respect that privacy and butt out.

@@JaceyMitchell If anyone is "playing doctor," attempting to make Brian's decisions for him or speak for him, I would nominate you for that dubious role. You portray yourself as an authority on Brian Wilson, but you're obviously ignorant of one important detail of his life: Brian has been used, abused and manipulated by those in his inner circle since childhood. Brian was physically and emotionally abused by his jealous father for years. In the late 1960s and 1970s, following a mental breakdown, he was often locked in his bedroom by his brothers and cousin and denied food unless he wrote songs for the Beach Boys. They would also feed him cocaine in exchange for new music. In the 1980s and into the 1990s, Brian was clearly controlled by his therapist, Eugene Landy. Afterward, if Carnie Wilson is to be believed, Brian's late wife Belinda assumed a similar position, dominating all aspects of her husband's personal and professional lives for at least the last 20 years. And, you claim, we don't know how far along Brian is with dementia? Well, it was recently announced that after his wife's death, Brian's adult children had him placed under a conservatorship, since Brian is no longer able to manage his own affairs himself. Tragically, Brian Wilson is a man with a long history of being treated like a show pony, lucky charm and cash cow by selfish people who should've been looking out for him. Seeing him being literally wheeled down the red carpet to promote a film that benefits him in no way suggests that, sadly, this abuse continues. If you can't understand that, then you're a truly shallow person and I pity you.

Brian has been working on one last stand with the whole band, everything has been kept quite. There will soon be a release of a country album, yes country that has been finished up, that was started in the 70's. They have hope of one last tour together. Say your prayers for them.

The Beach Boys? In sum, the brilliant close harmonies mostly within an octave's range, written by Brian Wilson. Without that, they wouldn't have been.
