Also i am doing the clutch movements like you 2 fingers until i can rev so its engaged enough dump it 2nd just wont pull a wheelie. Could the clutch be slipping i dunno i really dont know when i can mimic another riders movements without the same results

Hi I'm a new rider. My fiancee started teaching me last spring and never got to teach me how to wheelie. He was amazing at doing stand up wheelies. He passed away in Dec and now I have his stunt bike. I desperately want to learn to wheelie. Thanks for making these videos!!! He always said "clutch up and shut up" miss him more than words can express. Ride safe and please keep making videos!!

It is that easy. You just need to practice,do little ones to get used to the front going light, and work your way up in small increments from there. It's just like anything. You need to practice. That's all.

Easier than you think. I popped a wheelie by accident on a intersection. Found my balance point when I released my 3rd fart. My experience riding a motorcycle was 98 miles.

@@haydencurry5791 You just need to practice more than anything. I always started in second and used the clutch and did that over and over till I was good enough to switch gears and eventually you can go as far as you want as long as your forearms can handle it. I always liked fast highway wheelies and once made it nearly 6 kilometres. Haven’t even ridden a street bike in about 7 years and had the chance to do so last summer and it was no problem ripping wheelies the second I got on it. I was pretty nervous but it all worked out. You think you could go over using the footbrake? Nobody ever seems to go into specifics of when they’re actually hitting it, they just say cover the rear brake. Are you hitting the rear brake as you’re hitting balance point, etc...thanks man, your vids are helpful as always.

I guess another way of wording it is when you’re riding the wheelies out for extended periods of time is that more throttle control or rear brake?
@brian636
@brian636 7 жыл бұрын
Um, so when you are past balance point you gradually apply rear brake to bring it back down. To get up to balance point though, no there is no use of the rear brake, just to bring the bike back down. Please share if it helped you so others can check it out!!!

I decided to show my friend my wheelie "skills" on my Honda XR after a bit of liquid courage. I popped the clutch from a standstill, flipped the bike and landed right on my tailbone. I had to poop instantly, luckily I was able to make it to the toilet. Totally bright idea to mix something that impairs your balance with attempting to ride something that depends on your sense of balance. Lesson learned.

super impressed with how slow your starting speed and the amount of control you seem to have... questions: 1) are you popping the clutch completely (ie., letting it spring back freely), or slightly resisting the lever? 2) what exactly are you doing with the throttle as you pop the clutch? it looks like you are easing off the throttle just as you pop the clutch (?)

Good video. I should’ve watched these before I got too comfortable So I have an f4i and I was somewhat getting the hang of power ups In first gear. Balance point is tricky for me because i never wanted to go past it. Ultimately I did way up in the power band I was sitting down. Didn’t have the instinct to rear brake the tail hit the road and I was anticipating the slam and roll. Bent the rim broke the tree at the left fork front stay and fairing lost seat battery and ecu wires jerked loose it was a mess I was at the top of first so I’m guessing about 50mph road rash from hell but I walked away. In that moment when I knew I was past bp should I have braked clutched or both? Maybe even shifted. Idk. Ultimately bummed but not at all giving up. Thanks for the video

I subscribed Brian... I have a question which gear and speed do you find the easiest to begin attempting clutch wheelies like in this video? I have a 2005 zx6r... I figured you would know a good answer for my particular bike it is stock gearing I am pretty sure! But I did a power wheelie the other day by accident, just what happens as I am getting more comfortable with the bike, I haven't done one since and I even kinda tried... I am just really respecting this bike. I am a motorcycle vs drunk driver (truck) accident SURVIVOR taking my life back 10 years later... I figured I am gonna enjoy this hobby I am ready to get back on it I really appreciate any feedback I enjoy your videos and the streetfighterz and ROC videos! Keep it up, thanks!

Great that you made one again with a stock bike! I like to add one more suggestion to everyone trying it on there stock bikes (no matter which) Please! Check your rear brake before trying this! I mean try to brake while going maybe 20mph an hit just the rear brake to see if it's first still good and second to get the feeling for it. The reasons for that are that you usually don't use your rear brake so much as a street rider and second (bcs of reason number one) you may didn't know how bad your rear break actually works (on some aged bikes) and that can be a lil shocking experience that may end up in crashing your bike! :-D :'( This happened almost to me trying to wheelie my buddy's gsxr 600... In these situations it's always good to be and stay calm bcs if your not you will make a stupid panic move resulting in may fucking up your bike and your self depending on how fast your are going and some other things...like upcoming traffic. (Don't try wheelies on public roads guys!) Very bad idea when you are new in this stuff!
@brian636

Hey Brian I got a 650 ninja and was wondering while holding the clutch and flicking the throttle to 4500 rpm, do you run up on the throttle and then dump the clutch while still holding on to the amount of throttle you gave it or do you run up on throttle, dump clutch and then at the same time dump throttle quickly, and then add throttle again? Sorry if I’m making this question complicated, I’m just not understanding quite well. Thanks

I’ve an f3 it will sit up but it doesn’t inspire confidence like say an R1 when you can simply gas it up rather than clutching it up. Low gearing is crucial imo on a 600 as they just don’t have the grunt. Also the bars, yeah not the best position on any sports bike. Get some renthal’s on if ya can’t spread the clip on’s out. But we’re talking about wheelies! You either learn the art and use an appropriate setup, go for a more powerful engine like a gixer 750 or the good old 2 strokers like an RD350, I could sit mine up for ever! Great tutorial man to say it’s a stock CBR6 them gears are tall. If your not confident guys then don’t even try. It’s harder than it looks and you will throw it down the road.
@brian636
@brian636 6 жыл бұрын
Rob Scaife Lol yeah you are true that it is allittle harder as the gears are taller than with a big sprocket and risers, but just wanted to show that it is possible with some time and patience. brian_636 no worries man, your a stunter though and make it look easy, as you know to a newbie on his brand new 600 he’s gonna throw it down the road. But I can’t fault your advice or technique for a bog standard 600. I advise against wheelies unless ya been riding since 5. practice pain and more practice. Them 600’s just ain’t got that grunt, plus tall gears. You covered it all man though so it’s up to them if they wanna pop up the front. Next vid.... stoppies!👍🏻

ppl just dont wonna accept that whillie takes time and effort, i have a stock 600cc, the only diference from this one is that instead of 5k rpm i push mine a bit higher to 8k rpm to hit balance point, maybe i dont need that much if i use my body in a better way but thats that, takes time and practice

I have a 05 Honda 600cbrf4i and I've noticed with second gear wheelies you just gotta do it and be quick about it, I never shift with one or two fingers but doing this it has become comfartable I've seen people hold it at a rpm at a certain speed and just let go and bad things happen, you just gotta go with it quick and keep doing it until it becomes natural
