I really struggled trying to understand what you called “Bradja?” or “Radja?” couldn’t work it out if my life depended on it, I rewinded twice then I finally saw the images - I being a Romanian by birth, although living in Australia for decades. Luckily I know every city and town in Romania by its looks Because I visited them all when I used to live there…so Brașov it’s actually really easy to pronounce being basically made of the English word “Brush” with the termination “ov” - it’s that simple. Brush-ov or even Brush- off if the “off” makes it easier for you, all you have to do is to pronounce it in one word “Brushoff”. I believe it’s imperative for your subscribers from other countries to understand what you are talking about otherwise they won’t be able to identify that town if they really wanted to visit it in the future.

@@DeannaSt There is no need for that, since they've highlighted the name of BRASOV within the title, in the actual video they made about it. Whoever wants to "decode" that name, is being invited to search for it. As long as they took the time to wait up until the very end of this video, surely can also do a bit of research on that. No offense, fellow, but it seems like you're asking for far too much from 'em.

Thank you so much for your Romanian videos and this wrap up. We visited Romania for 10 days at the beginning of September this year and watched many of your videos before we went. We flew into Bucharest and stayed 2 nights before picking up our hire car and heading to Brasov for 3 nights, then to the countryside just south of Sibiu for another 3 nights before heading back to Bucharest for the last night of our stay. We absolutely loved Brasov and Sibiu as well as the surrounding countryside and towns. We didn’t think much of Bucharest but we are not big party people so that may be why! We are also not big beer drinkers but tried a local one in Brasov inspired by you two and we loved it! I even messaged the company on Instagram when we got back but they don’t ship it to the UK so I guess we will have to go back. Unfortunately we were trying to pack so much in that we didn’t have time for Sighisoara which is a big regret. It’s worth noting that although having the freedom of car hire is great, the drive between locations can also be very long because of the terrain. Before we left to go people were asking us why we were choosing Romania for our holiday with disgust! More fool them I say…it is such a beautiful country and the all the people we met were the kindest and friendliest we’ve experienced on many travels. We can’t wait to go back!

THANK YOU from all my heart !!! Such nice and appreciative words about my country, about my native city - you guys are awesome. I am not a beer expert, but I can say that I’ve had a few sorts of beer in Germany, which is famous and praised for its beer - I like Romanian beer much, much more … and I learned the secret - it is all about the water. Germany imported huge quantities of water from Romania just for that - to have a high quality beer. There is a difference between 1st class and 2nd class train cars (compartments) - 1st class has in general 3 seats for a row, 2nd class has 4. In one of your previous videos, you said that you’ll make a list of your 3 most favorite places - I had a strong feeling about which one will be at the top of the list … I was right - THANK YOU. I wanted to catch up, so I made a mini marathon watching your last 3 videos in a row. There are many years since I last time visited Oradea and when I saw the tram cars in your video, it gave me some sort of Kim Jong-Un vibe … interesting choice of colors they came up with. In the video from Timisoara, there was a very interesting aspect that caught my eye - something on a plate you had one of your meals served on … my thanks go to the kitchen staff this time … I hope someday I’ll live my dream through you, as my highest, maybe my only priority now is to get to Cheboksary, even relocate there, but I simply can not afford that trip (not yet) - so I’ll keep an eye on your channel and maybe you’ll get there before I do … although I think one whole decade wouldn’t be enough to see all that is to be seen … because it is Russia. At the time I’m writing this, you probably left Romania already - I’ll come back to your channel to see some more, because your videos are the best of this sort I’ve ever seen (I mean travel vlog). Take care and say hello from a Romanian brother to your friends and families. Cheers !!!

I'm so glad to hear you've enjoyed your stay. Transylvania is a very beautiful place, but not just the cities, the nature is also breathtaking. Very lush and green. There are so many other places worth visiting, though they're not as accessible to tourists. One area which I've visited this summer was the mud volcanoes from Buzau. Buzau is a region with a lot of natural gas resources, which seep out from the ground, creating fire (literal fire coming out of the ground) and the mud volcanoes. The mud volcanoes in Romania are the largest, by far, in Europe and are very beautiful and interesting. The main problem is reaching them as the roads leading up to them are in very poor condition. Other areas worth seeing are the Danube Delta and the Danube Cauldrons (Cazanele Dunarii). Best of luck on your next travels. Stay healthy and well :)

I love your videos. I have binge-watched from the beginning. Thank you for sharing! It's because of the confusion of bus schedules and not knowing that makes travel fun - and aggravating - and keeps our brains engaged! You have inspired our next trip. We plan to go next September to Albania because of you and stay a week in Tirana and a week in Sarande after a month in Poland. Like you, we like the oh-so-affordable month-long stays, but I don't want to miss all the other great places in a country so we sandwich our month-long stays with shorter bursts of travel. In Poland we're planning on staying in each destination about a week or longer. We have slowed down since our first big international trip in 2010 when we did a whirlwind 11 days in Italy. I love being retired, traveling slowly and that the world is opening up again after covid. Bummer that I can't learn from you about Poland. We went to Romania in 2015 for the same reason as you - to get out of the Schengen. We loved it. Loved Sighisoara and Sibiu and Brasov as well as Bucharest and Timisoara. (Need to return!) Just like you, we eventually continued down to Croatia where we stayed a month in Split (Awesome!) and traveled to Mostar and Kotor, but then ferried over to Bari, Italy for a month in Lecce, Puglia... Memories. I write a Wordpress blog about all our (budget) travels and include all our expenses, accommodations, food, etc like you. More recently, we've been traveling in Mexico. I know we've been to a lot of the same places but if you're considering a new place and you're looking for information you might like to look and see. It's called: Meet You in the Morning at Wordpress dot com. The main page has an index by country. We are kindred spirits (from the great Pacific NW) except that our happy vice is coffee, not craft beer. Haha! Looking forward to your next video.

I was born in Romania, and lived there for quite a while, I recommend you guys to try "Constanta" next to black Sea, is true is best to visit in summer days, and you'll love it, try it for 1 week, and you two will have a beautiful vacation, and thank you for your video about it, I did not return to Romania for the past 11 years as I live in London, really did enjoy your clip, and all the best, keep up the good work.

Next time when you come back I highly recommend you to visit the region of Moldova (Iași, Bacău, Suceava, etc), especially if you come in December, because that is the region with the best Christmas and New Year's Eve traditions.
@BrianandCarrie2 жыл бұрын
The number one suggested place for us to travel to in Romania was Iasi and the Moldova region. We will be back, Iasi will be our first stop!! Thank you for the suggestion and for watching our channel! Cheers!!!🍻

@@BrianandCarrie If you visit Iasi, you have to see the Palace of Culture and the central area surrounding it. Also, I'd skip Bacau. Nothing to see there. Suceava county or Neamt county are better options.

I'm from Brasov, your #1 destination, but I got to say for me the most beautiful place to visit in Romania (maybe even in Europe) is the DANUBE DELTA. ps. It's a bit misleading to say you visited Romania, because you actually you just visited Transylvania and Bucharest.
@BrianandCarrie2 жыл бұрын
And that is why we need to come back!! We seriously loved what we were able to see off Romania but there is so much that we missed. We will be back soon to see the rest. Thank you for watching and for the comments. Cheers!!🍻

Naaah, it's not misleading. These places are in Romania. Saying that you went to Romania doesn't have to mean you see the entire country 😉

:) also next time try to visit some reachable natural escapes, like caves, forest roads, village museum (near cluj- the bear's cave , and Turzii Canon, Sibiu's village museum), Book some glam camps in villages or check-in at a winery. And a must is DANUBE DELTA. Also outside painted churchies from Eastside-Suceava+Voroneț. Enjoy! 🙂

Thank you for the reviews… I’m so glad that you enjoyed my beautiful country 🙂God bless you beautiful people ! I hope that one day you can visit the North part of Romania : Maramures. The trip is easier if you take a flight to Cluj and from there you drive to Maramures. And if you love driving along the mountains : I’ll highly recommend Transalpina and Transfagarasan ( one episode of Top gear was filmed in Transfagarasan and they named driving there as “ the best roads in the world” ). Hi guys , glad you came to Oradea , but i suggest if you come back in cople of years in Romania , you should go to Ciuperca up on the hill , you can see the city from there and can get somthing to eat up there. If you come back you`l see some big changes in our home town , the city is now in a magor development and try to visit again in the spring and have a day in Felxi or 1Mai . Thank you for visit our home town again and be safe in you`r trips . Thake care !

My experience of buses in Romania is that they are less reliable than the trains. They are clean, fast and air-conditioned but some just don't turn up. So if I have a flight to catch I always go to Sibiu or Cluj the day before and stay overnight in a hotel near the airport. The trains can be challenging, in that there are no announcements when the trains stop, plus there are often no signs on the platform to help you out. It helps if you have an app on your phone to let you know exactly where you are, though mostly locals will tell you. I don't have the internet on my phone, so when the train from Braşov stopped at Alba Iulia late at night I had absolutely no idea where I was. Luckily locals helped me out. Romania is still finding its feet in the European Union so blips with transport will be sorted out in time. It's an amazing place, beautiful, friendly and ultimately surprising. Love your videos. Hope you do come back to Romania. As you said in your video, there's so much more you haven't seen.
