the “why is no one getting this?” is so hard to listen to because you realize that no one understands what he’s trying to say. it’s going further into the downward spiral of self-doubt where something you thought might be interesting to know is waved off by people you love and it makes you feel terrible

Why...why you gotta remind me of my day-to-day feelings, bdg? Was it all building up to this, you start us off with high-quality micro-sketches, then you do some good longer bits, then you start a series where you lull us into a false sense of joy and punch us in the gut with depression? In the last episode I think we saw how lonely Brian was in NY without his friends and how they continued on in pairs even when he left- but at least they were there you know? This episode almost seems indicative of how you tend to lose your friends one by one after moving and how conversations just seems to fizzle out after a while... which is a subtler sort of loneliness but oh wow equally as painful.
