this is great especially for people who enjoy/need structure when theyre trying to improve i think if you combine this with Press Button Win's "Think Don'T Mash!" and Ceelow's "Rookie to Diamond" videos you'd have a pretty newbie-friendly series to help people better understand FGs

Yo Brian. Thanks for getting me back into this game in the right mindset. Picked up my old main Birdie and am now just dusting him off with exactly this tactic. If ever I get cooked by a character’s tool in a match I immediately open up Training mode and figure out what I can do to negotiate that option. Example, like, yesterday I learned Karin had a command grab after Ressenha which is an option select if the initial hit is blocked. I felt almost powerless against such a dinky tool. Training mode showed that my options are to trade with Ressenha, punish after initial block with jab, crouch under the grab (which leaves them in the corner if I’m even one step out of the corner) , OR to cr.MP the grab. So while it feels like I really only have one button to use against that move, knowing the theory behind the tool helps me respond to it and disincentivize it against me in future. Another one is Alex medium headbutt, which is fast enough to beat all my normal anti air options. At game start, you can dash in to make it whiff, but if you dash back it hits, so basically, if you actually react to it, jump HP combo. It’s these kinds of scenarios I never would have checked out after the fact in Training before I found your channel. Thanks for being cool.

Honestly, it's the best I've seen out of any fighting game. But it requires you to actually know how to use the tools at your disposal.

Prolly my first comment on your channel but I gotta say thank you for sharing good advice like this. Stuff like specific training situations aren’t talked about much. I used to be able to go to this place local to me “8 on the break” for offline advice and practice but Covid kinda botched that. And out of the other sf content creators, your stuff is structured very efficiently and concise. Thanks BRian F and I wish you all the props to your page and brand my guy.

great! i love this kind of video, i have a hard time piecing together how to make this kind of drills in practice mode, i hope future games invent a feature that lets you share this kind of scenario, that would help people waaaay more than combo routes

I would recommend not doing only drills for hours until the moment you got it down to a T. Mix it up between warm-ups, regular training, matches, regular training and/or different training (mu specific stuff), rinse and repeat. At least that's how I do it. It gives me more variety and I feel I can incorporate trained / learned things into my general play at a faster rate. Mind you I am one of those guys that can test out things for 10 hours straight in a game so maybe you wanna make your time blocks for each part be at different lengths of time. Hope that helps and always have fun.

I am a beginner so I probably know the answer to this (just play lol) but how do I get faster reactions? I understand what's going on in this video but I don't think I could react fast enough to these stuff if I tried. And when practicing stuff like this I always feel like I'm guessing, not reacting.
