Here's a little behind the scenes look at the making of Britney Spears music video Toxic which I wrote, did the creative direction for and choreographed. These are excerpts from the MTV episode of Making the Video which followed the entire process back in 2003! I hope you enjoy it!

I randomly met Britney around this period when we were both out one night in NYC. She was so friendly, warm and sweet. When I read about all of the garbage her family and management did to her it broke me heart. She is a lovely human and her spirit was cruelly broken because of other people's greed. More than anything I can't even begin to imagine how much the situation with her kids has affected her. She deserves so much better. I hope she finds peace and true joy in life again.

@Alissa It has nothing to do with personality changing and evolving through the years, which is perfectly normal. In her case, it seems she literally lost her soul. It's the saddest thing, because it takes me watching that video to see the tons of charisma she used to have. I mean, wow, what a star! It's like watching Elvis, or Michael Jackson, or Madonna when she was young, their charisma and X-factor just explodes on camera. Now she looks like a bad impersonator of herself. I've seen very old people lose their personality, but never such a young person. It's the saddest thing to see what mental illness can do.

I love watching Britney behind the scenes. Even though she’s filming, dancing, and working crazy long hours she always keeps such a positive attitude. Brit- we were at the gay bar (Parliament house, orlando) when this premiered. It came on all the tvs (disco, back bar, drag bar, outside bars, pool bar, video bar). The entire place went silent. Some little giggles here and there and then... At the end, there was a brief pause. Then, the entire place erupted in claps and screams and happy laughter! It's a moment I'll never forget. Thank you! We love you! You touched all of our lives!

I just finished the book and I’m full of respect and admiration for her. This was Britney right before her knee injury. Most people talking about how she can't dance..she had her knee fixed but can't use it the same way as she used to. She never will. It's why Me Against the Music is such an iconic piece of choreography. It's complex, athletic, layered, and difficult and Britney at her peak.
