I 💯% agree Have been a reptile keeper for 10+ years and a retic keeper for about 6. Sometimes you get desensitized when you have the ability to work with well socialized animals.

Watching you and the other brian has changed me from a reptile murderer to a reptile lover Been watching for a few years now and for my 60th birthday I went to the pet store and petted a ball python He thought. It was hilarious that I was rubbing against the scales. Much softer when you pet it the correct way

hey what brand are those enclosures and how long are they I've been looking into maybe getting into bigger snakes the biggest i have currently is only a 6 foot boa atm and I like keeping her and I'm really interested in retics and olive pythons and I've looked into scrubs as well I can't make my mind up on what i want to get yet.

You are correct. I don't have any reptiles at all. I'm scared of snakes. But I'm learning to appreciate them and their beauty. I have a learned respect for them. I can read behavior now on some of the reptiles. Thank you so much for your content it is appreciated 👍🏼❤️

@dawnjaroch395 a hognose is a safe bet and they are adorable. Or if you are wanting the venomous and the practice get a bull snake or pine snake. It will keep you on your toes and give you plenty of close calls and excitement. 🤣

What size are those enclosures? Just curious what ppl use for them. I know they only come so big, unless custom made.

I'd really like to get my hands on a dwarf retic . Something that gets between 8 and 10ft. Is there an affordable option for something like that? Preferably not a morph known to be temperamental. Great video Brian!
@AaronHendricks7924 күн бұрын
Super Dwarf localities can be in that size range. Depending on the percentage of SD blood and who produced it could be 500.00 and up.
@BrianKusko24 күн бұрын
Aaron has a good answer. I would personally look to Reach Out Reptiles as I think they do good job and are personal friends of mine

What are your thoughts on smaller meals with more frequency on health impacts?

I think as long as they are getting adequate time to rest their digestive system than that's fine

I find it fascinating to compare strike and grip between my different snake species and individuals It's kind of crazy how accurate the GTP can be... Yet also can be just a sloppy as the boas and Royals
@Heidi_Pfeifer24 күн бұрын
My boas are on par. The Ball pythons though 🤦♀️ I have no idea how they survive in the wild.
@LanceKirkman24 күн бұрын
@Heidi_Pfeifer LoL There are days that my boas and Royals are on target and then times they barely get a hind foot and wrap It's kind of funny I have seen my GTP do it, but exceedingly rare
@joshuaedwards136623 күн бұрын
My one retic is so gentle he doesn't even wrap food lol so lazy. My other girl hits it like she's never eating again 😂
@LanceKirkman23 күн бұрын
@joshuaedwards1366 I have a GTP like that. If it's f/t he will take it super dainty If it's live he'll pound it It's hilariously different
@joshuaedwards136623 күн бұрын
@LanceKirkman yea it's crazy. Only retic I know without a food response. I can go in enclosure no hook ever. I've had him since he was a hatchling, he was assist fed at first. Going on 3 years old now. But maybe that's why he's so docile pretty much handled so much getting him to eat

You have stunning retics, although Halo is the most beautiful in my eyes. She's something else. I have a genetic stripe which eats large rabbits, and then two Dwarf Lavender Albino genetic stripes which still eat jumbo rats. Wish they could eat rabbits. Lol I had a boa who used to eat adult rabbits (smaller than the ones you fed). Sadly she passed away last year, so for now, it's my retic and Burmese Python who get the bunnies. I have a question in regards to the cages. Are those PVC or wooden cages? Also, what is the "front" made of? Perspex I'm assuming?
@BrianKusko24 күн бұрын
They are PVC And the fronts are some kind of acrylic
@Heidi_Pfeifer23 күн бұрын
@BrianKusko thanks. Want to see if we can start producing ones like that here in SA. I reckon they will do well.
@scottgoveiareptiles24 күн бұрын
My snakes love rabbits but I got my retics in the freedom breeder 6-66 , and boy them cages sucks for big retics not enough room for feeding
@joshuaedwards136623 күн бұрын
Wouldn't that mean it's too small for the snake in general then?
@scottgoveiareptiles23 күн бұрын

My big boa likes small rabbits but will take large rats like a boa 🤙 definitely use my tools at all times. It only took one bite from my mail boa years ago and he was a juvenile to teach me to use my tools. He bruised my thumb and messed up a ligament he hit so hard. Didn't tear the skin or cause too much bleeding It was just your standard pin pricks but yeah that ligament was not happy I had shooting numbness from my thumb knuckle to the tip of my finger
@BrianKusko24 күн бұрын
Yes, in a hand ligament is the worst place I have ever taken a big snake bite. Couldn't move my hand right for over a week!

Hi Brian have a commented on one of your videos and while I haven't seen one of your videos in a while. You look freaking awesome. I know you were working on your weight and everything you look good. I personally don't have any reptiles at this point in time but I did have Turtles for a while. I'm currently a hamster mom of a little baby boy hamster he's adorable his name is Tobias. I do like snakes I just don't think I could feed one an animal. It's not in me to do that even though I know it's something that they eat in the wild and something that naturally they do. I just don't think I could do it though. Being that I am very fond of the cute and furry little creatures. I just don't think I could feed a cute furry creature to a snake. Even though I know that's what they naturally eat. But I don't think I could do it myself and that's just me
