Sadly, Albert Biermann retired, but Hyundai just hired Manfred Harrer, former lead developer of Porsche Taycan project, as the head of Genesis and Performance development tech unit. N's success will continue.🎉

That's too bad. He brought a lot of tricks to Hyundai. The Ionic 5N has similar suspension setup to the M5

@@cwx8 Albert Biermann will be missed. I wish Manfred Harrer will be as good as Mr. Biermann. Manfred Harrer was the former vice-president of Chassis development in Porsche. This car really is a sleeper. Most people don't realize what it is. I have mine tuned and making about 320 whp. Guys get weird about it when they get passed or hear the exhaust. They turn it into a pissing match and act offended that threy got passed by a 4 door Hyundai sedan. If you want a fwd performance car or just want something new and spicey under 40 k, this is a grreat car. I love mine, and it has been a lot of fun to own it. Track days have been amazing and the car never overheats or under delivers.

I went from FL5 to Integra Type S, but still have immense respect for the Elantra N, especially for the price tag. I still rubberneck for them, particularly when I see a refreshed 2024 model.

Having owned several Hondas in the past, most notable ones the ITR DC2 & AP1. I couldn’t justify the price difference of the EN & FL5, especially not after ADM. Extremely happy with the EN, although I know I would have said the same with the FL5. One huge fact that goes unnoticed, the EN is equipped with a semi-closed deck. Not sure why this isn’t brought to light, but what a stout engine the EN is equipped with.

If you’ve ever driven an E46 M3. There’s attributes to it that are practically identical to the EN. Such as, when cornering the steering weight build up; controlled rotation, you manipulate the suspension through trail braking, percentage of throttle and occasional lift off. The vehicle never suddenly snaps, it’s seamless. When I pilot MY23 EN, the hefty resemblance of the E46 M3 really astonishes me.

Bought my wife the Kona N because she prefers hatch backs, but I’m wondering if we missed out on this car. Curious if the suspension feels the same. My wife’s car has pretty stiff suspension in all driving modes.

Spring rates are much stiffer in the Kona N. I did an episode on it when it was new. The Elantra N is a different animal. Give one a try!

Another sleeper color that surprised me(I had to see it live) is their red. It's a darker red and the red striping at the bottom of every other Elantra N is gray(obviously red against red doesn't work) and the grey striping is more subtle and doesn't grab the eyes like the red striping does. I did buy a 2024 red Elantra N with DCT(Thank goodness I can stand the new front styling). I traded a 2021 VW GLI S with DCT and the Elantra is quicker, more solid and handles noticeably better.

@@BrianMakse true, but Mosport caters to the clubs and big events while TMP is very accessible to the individual Drivers. Having the track that has open session most days of the week is very cool. Mosport requires joining a group, spending 4 times the amount for track access and canceling all your plans to make that one rare track day. I've deleted that track widget from my EN's display, since it's too annoying seeing something that's there for useless show.

I’m seriously considering one of these when I am back in the search in about ten months. I hope markups aren’t prevalent when that time comes. Otherwise, the “bargain,” isn’t such a bargain. This car requires octane learning after every tank full in order to achieve maximum boost. Most reviewers never mention this. That is a definite deal breaker.
@boogiedownkid5465Ай бұрын
Yeah that sucks big time! I own 22N manual and have achieved Octane Learning only 3 times. I live near NYC so finding a place I can go around 70mph for 5-10 minutes without cars obstructing me is just about impossible unless I fill up in the middle of the night. With that said, I have exactly zero regrets. It drives amazing without octane learning but it is frustrating to know that there is little more performance that I’m missing out on.
