I’ve been “natural” I hate that word bc as long as it grows from the scalp it’s natural IMO. However I’m going to relax bc for one I miss running my fingers through my hair, feeling clean and refreshed, and the overall LOOK of it. There’s nothing wrong with liking straight hair

Maddi Page it’s called natural because it’s referring to the way your hair naturally grows. Relaxed hair isn’t natural because it doesn’t grow out of your scalp looking like that

Barbietoofaded and all...I was confused when I first heard black women stating that they were natural. When I was young, a twa was called a natural. You had an afro if you had a lot of hair. I always had a natural. I just cut my hair off and glad (after 40 years). Oh my hair grew, but the tangles before wash too much... I feel free (well, right now anyway). I had new growth 6/7 months before big chop. As my hair grows, I don't know. But, I am so very happy that I don't have a relaxer anymore. So, I get those that don't want to be natural anymore; I'm just the opposite. Which ever makes you happy; I agree there is nothing wrong with liking relaxed hair or the likes. Take care.

My natural hair is currently 12-13 inches long and full after I got all my split ends cut off. But that’s good because my hair will grow faster and longer now that all the split ends are gone. Also with oiling my scalp every few weeks or once a week. My goal is to get my natural hair to 20 inches and to keep it that length forever and with the ends healthy.

Great video, your hair is beautiful. Until they actually make a relaxer that wasnt discovered by accident, meaning wasnt developed intentionally to relax black hair , hair breakage will always be a challenge w/o painstaking maintenance of hair. The inventor of relaxers had wiped a harsh chemical on WOOL w/o realizing until the following day that it had smoothed the fibers, they decided to market this new discovery to black people! No one is making any effort to actually formulate a DIY relaxer completely different from past products, designed to retain strength of our hair structure. I would go natural if i had an entire week free once a month to complete the required detangling ritual but i will need to stick with relaxers or texturizers for now.

When I'm wearing my regular hair with no weave just wear my regular hair I try to stretch my relaxer as long as I can but after five weeks it starts breaking. I don't wear wigs. However I have noticed that my hair grows like crazy when I wear weave. Then it seems like I can stretch my relaxer much longer for some reason. But every time I relax my hair and I go over 5 Weeks my hair starts breaking off especially at the nape. I've even been really trying hard to take care of my hair making sure I only put heat on it when I wash it every eight or nine days. Every night I wrap it and I never put heat on it again. But my nape comes out so bad it's all practically bald on the sides in the back. Not the middle the middle is real long and flourishing but the sides is terrible. And I've been doing my own relaxers and I make sure I rinse out that relaxer real good so I just don't understand why my hair is falling out at the nape so bad. And won't really grow

Hi Nicole. You can oil your ends lightly often. The oil helps to protect it from drying up. I mix olive oil and castor oil for that. 💚💗💙

Great video maybe you can help or point me in the right direction. I’ve been having relaxer ever since I can remember. During middle school and high school, my hair was thick and long. Then after I had my child and tryna to do my own hair, it just been getting on my nerves. My middle and back has been an issue for me. I’ve been to the salon and had my hair cut twice. Every time I get it cut, it seems to be on the right track then for some odd reason it stops and starts being dry and breaking off. I get a retouch every other month. I’m about to throw my hands up and shave my head but if I can save my hair then I rather do that

could you do a video on how to accomplish those different relaxed styles (like twist outs). I have difficulties finding new ways to wear my relaxed hair, especially curly hairstlyes!

I don’t mean to offensive when I ask this question, but why are you wearing a lace front when you have such beautiful hair? I think the wig looks ok, but it distracts from your natural beauty. I say this with love, but lose the lace front and style your own natural hair.
@BriannaRashay5 жыл бұрын
Not offensive at all. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and wig maker. Not only do I LOVE wigs but I also have to promote my products and make my coin! PLUS it's my go-to protective style! Thanks for watching love. If you'd like a custom wig you can visit Wigfallstyles on Instagram :)

@@BriannaRashay I love wigs too , it's good to switch it up sometimes that's why it's fun being a women you can do lace fronts , then wear your own hair . Short cut wigs , extension locks , to wearing a an afro wig. Us women switch it up all the time not just wear your own hair all the time or wear wigs all the time. Your hair looks beautiful and please don't ditch the wigs . I could see if you wear it all the time.

Joanie Xavier she has long hair because she lets it rest under the wig I would think you where a guy asking that question. If you style your hair everyday you won’t have none. She protects her hair to retain her hair

You have to slowly gage your hair on how long you can stretch your relaxers, so if your getting your relaxers done every 6 weeks the next time you get one try going at 8-9 weeks and following that maybe try challenging yourself to go 13 weeks but during this process you have to learn what products to use to build your hair bonds up to prevent breakage so you dont experience set backs, I have a video up on my channel on how to stretch your relaxers check it out for more information boo!
@tilasm4105 жыл бұрын
Jazzie Jae thanks! I’ll definitely check out your channel!
@kenya888315 жыл бұрын
You have to be super careful when stretching your hair because there is a fine line between your relaxed hair and new growth. It's called the demarcation point. If your not careful and knowledgeable of your hair, your relaxed hair will break off at that point. I believe that is what she meant about breakage from waiting too long to relax.

@brianneLive Hi my name is Sharon and I have relaxed hair. I recently came across you KZbin video on cold wave rods on relaxed hair and I fall in love. I need you help tho. I relaxed my hair in November then waited a week and dye my hair red. Which I'm kinda regretting now because my hair sheds alot. Now like you in the beginning my hair is on my collar bone but I want to grow it out more. I was wondering if you could give me steps or some advice on what I should try to do to get my hair to grow longer. Now I haven't been to a professional hair stylist ig I don't trust ppl to cut my hair and I wash my hair like every two weeks n I touch up my red every three weeks. I don't deep condition or anything. I don't really oil my hair because it produces alot of oil it self. But if I'm missing anything can you give me advice.
