Yes. 3.60 VDC per cell is totally fine. I'd fly to 3.30 VDC on most prop planes, but this one is tricky to land, so like to leave a little in the tank for a few go-around ;)

I’m looking for a replacement for my V1200 and hopefully Miss America will make for a fast, smooth flyer with more robust retracts. Props to you for flying in front of your house and making it work. So, you can’t use a 6 channel receiver and be able to switch off stabilization mode right? I don’t want to fly in stabilized mode all the time so if I can’t switch I’ll use a bigger receiver or a safe receiver.
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC 5 ай бұрын
Correct. If you order this with a Reflex stabilizer, a 6 Channel (like an bprc.me/AR620 ) will give you... 1. Throttle 2. Ailerons 3. Elevator 4. Rudder 5. Gear 6. Flaps So no pluggable channel to switch the mode. But, if you order WITHOUT a Reflex, you can use an bprc.me/AR631 or bprc.me/AR630 and the SAFE/AS3X rides on top of the pluggable channels so you'd be able to switch in and out of SAFE/AS3X with just a switch assignment. Looks like most of the bprc.me/FMS_P51 come without Reflex these days.

Hey Brian thank you for awesome video. Could you please tell me how do I set the auto-levelling? I tried today but it looked the gyro did not help at all! Otherwise I went step by step with you. I have 8 channel spektrum receiver inside. Thanks
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC Жыл бұрын
kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3fGiYOMa8yLbas - We used and AR620, and thus didn't have any extra channels left over to assign for turning AUTO LEVELING on and off, so all you would have to do with your 8 channel rx is assign any of your free channels to this MODE/PPM plug, and you can make THREE positions...one for STABILIZER, one for OFF, and one for AUTO-LEVELING...or just a two position switch - one for STABILIZER, and the other for AUTO-LEVELING. It's SUPER EASY!!! However, if you're using something OTHER than the REFLEX V2 (Included on the P-51 Voodoo and many of the FMS planes) you'll have to make sure you're Rx supports AS3X & SAFE. Here's my cheat sheet of the Spektrum choices we use most of the time.... Horizon Hobby Spektrum Rx Without AS3X/SAFE... AR410 bit.ly/3z5hT75 AR620 bit.ly/3z7WDO0 AR6610T bit.ly/3z37ysk AR8020T bit.ly/3vgCnbV

I don't know what I am doing wrong with mine, can't even get it off the ground without it rolling hard to the left and either wing striking and cartwheel or flip completely upside down into the ground. with and without AS3X it did the same thing.

She is a handful, and you HAVE to actively fly her into the air. The P-Factor is very high...and you will have to fight it. Might want to double, triple check the direction of your correction. If it's going the wrong way on the ROLL axis, you could be exaggerating this effect.

Viper 90mm, but only marginally, and due to very difficult to not BOUNCE in a landing on this beauty. This plane is EASY to fly, but hard to grease in a landing.

Brian - on each of your links it says out of stock or unavailable, on Horizon Hobby it only shows the Dago and it says no longer available. The previous 2 issues of ama magazine had ads for the 4 versions of the FMS p-51 v2 with the comment new schemes coming. Then the most recent ama magazine did not have the ad. I want to buy the Miss America version but can only find it available from foreign countries and the shipping cost is well over $100 dollars. what is going on? Are these planes going to be available or have they been discontinued ?

FMS should have made this one white in tribute to the speed record the real racing mustang Voodoo set in 2017. All 4 liveries of this model are very accurate representations of Unlimited Class Reno air racers. How is this performance-wise compared to the Eflite 1.2m Mustang?
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC 2 жыл бұрын
Faster, but at 1.1m easier to transport. As you can see, WAY harder to land!!! Not sure why thou... I can grease the Eflite P-51D all day long... This plane LOOKS and FEELS amazing. Loved the way she showed, but I do have a bit of an issue with the goofy little canopy...BUT it is a scale plane...so I can't really even complain about that, being a bit of a scale nut ;)

i love your long videos. apart from usual fun, it does cover small issues which i run into while setting up my RC. I am into RC car and just starting out with RC planes. I have been practicing in RF9.5 simulators for a while now and i think i wanna get a actual plan now :-) . I already got the NX6 transmitter which i have been using with the simulator. I really love Cirrus SR22 (the one just announced - the red one) can this be my first plan ? Thanks for all your information and detailed videos
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC 2 жыл бұрын
Don't do it. The Cirrus is a great plane, but it's not super duper easy to fly and land...long narrow wings make it FASTER on landings than you might like...second or third plane - totally doable. yeah man listen to brian- dont do it. Here's the thing- sim and real life are totally different. that being said, ANY plane can be your first plane. with this caveat- you just have to ask yourself, how much money do you want to spend on parts or more planes, and how much time are you willing to spend in the workshop making repairs to said first plane?

@incubrian 2 жыл бұрын
@@helloarry dude- GREAT call on that! the timber is legit the best airplane out there. i have 3 lol. and i love them more than the cirrus ;) yeah i always tell people who are getting started, that while sims and youtube can make a more advanced plane seem easy, its really best to learn and get good on something more stable :) the cirrus, as brian said, has a wing that is built for speed, and is why it falls out of the sky easily. not fun, and not fun to repair for anyone haha. unless you reallllllllllly like to spend money and time on parts and repairs ;) haha heres a few tips for buttery smooth timber landings - run a large battery and have it a bit nose heavy, experiment with your flap settings and mixing, and then set up expos or dial down the pitch rate so you can really be smooth on that elevator stick on final approach. before you know it youll be kissing the grass on touchdown every time!
@helloarry
@helloarry 2 жыл бұрын
@@incubrian thanks for the landing tip. I really need it. So far I am using 70% rate and 30% expo on ailerons and 90%rate/30% expo on elevators. I’m the air I think I am able to do patterns but landings are still hard 😀 have gone through multiple gear springs so far. Not yet used flaps. I have to try that. So if I were to use flaps, do I have to come under little bit of throttle or no throttle. I mean right now I think my planes stalls right before the flare and does the hard touchdown🤷‍♂️
