Brian, I have stopped watching most other farm channels but always watch yours. As a fellow farmer of about the same acreage, I appreciate how you show the good and the bad. You don’t seem to worry about what others say (not sure I could keep going with all the garbage people tell you) and you just put out good content. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Amazing drone footage. Glad to see your dad back in the combine, so u don't break it. lol Really feeling for all of u with the disappointing corn yields. It's devastating to watch a family work so hard and lose money. People who haven't farmed don't understand. They can't appreciate the self sacrifice it takes to work without guarantees, pay or benefits, so that the farm can survive another year to provide for others and continue the generational legacy of farming. Thanks again for all that the Brown family does for America.

We bought 2 9's this year and in 10 days of steady running. We've had 2 major break downs and a few minor ones. We've run a loaner for almost a week and the rest of the service has been excellent and we are 3.5hrs from the dealer

@kevinwilson1475
@kevinwilson1475 Күн бұрын
@@BriansFarmingVideos Major: the main hydraulic pump came apart last Tuesday probably won't be back until Friday. As I was driving the loaner into the field the separator clutch went in the other. Had a tech up the next day was running by 6pm. The minor stuff is just random everyday issues of running a combine that I don't feel like typing to explain. Note: make sure your beater sheer bolt has been updated to the 8mm bolt from the 6mm. Would take a 13mm wrench instead of a 10mm.

As always Brian, thanks for all of the excellent videos that you make. I like the idea of unloading on the go from the combine into a truck instead of unloading on the go from the combine into a cart. wheels of the trailer, there would be roughly the same weight on these 8 wheels. With your average 1000 bu or 30 ton cart there are only two wheels or two tracks to carry this load. There is more ground being compacted because of running back with the cart to the truck than there would be if the truck was running alongside the combine and unloading on the go into the truck. Green chopped corn forage silage is heavy and it is loaded into semis while the harvester continues to cut and there is never a mention of compaction. Potatoes, sugar beet and various vegetable crops are unloaded on the go from the harvesters directly into semis and no one worries about compaction. I'd like to see you folk just unload into a truck for one semi load just to see how it goes. I think it will go ok. Check out this video of wheat harvesting and unloading directly into a semi trailer. 2024 crop report - Box Elder
@trevors42
@trevors42 Күн бұрын
Compaction is a huge issue in silage corn, vegetable crops and potato crops. They don’t mention it because there is no good way currently around compacting the field so much. We grow potatoes, sugar beets, and silage corn. When we finish harvesting a field you can have spots so compacted that it’s like having a concrete road.
@joshcrd7925
@joshcrd7925 Күн бұрын
They use the scale on the cart for record keeping, a fully loaded cart on tracks is less than 20 pounds per square inch when rolling over the ground, and if they would happen to get rain and mud a semi isn't moving anywhere. I worked on a dairy farm thru college. Chopping silage with trucks was miserable in the mud

Hey Brian...Loved seeing your wife a little in the beginning of this one. She is a nice looking farm wife and she has a good whit. Always good to see the whole family. At the end of this video you didn't mention comment because it helps the channel. I could see how that could be more than just forgetting. All the Armchair Quarterbacks and all. Couple things struck me as interesting. This is a demonstrator model. That means it has had a bunch of people operating it for the first time, and making the mistakes that that entails.Hard wear on a new machine. Another thing is no Ideal Rep helping fix the broken chain. I know you all are good mechanics but a brand new machine would have had a Rep out to see specifically what caused that problem. That instead of you all speculating what caused it. I think those machines were designed for farms that had been being cultivated hundreds of years before we were even a country. Smooth flat fields where no rocks are likely to be found. I figure you got a big discount on a Big Class machine because it was a demonstrator...I hope this decision doesn't end up biting you all in the rear end. Loved the "In the Fodder and the Son and the Holy Ghost." That was funny as Hell. I really like your channel. Best of the bunch, and minimal commercials. You Dad is a hell of a man. Your lucky

If your feeder chain jumps a sprocket loosen it off and put a 3/4 socket under the chain that jumped and use some wire to hold it to the chain then use the reverser and it will usually pop back in place works great

Lucky to have floor plate most automated trucks have no upper plate. Trucks without it only why to get at lower alum plate to pull seats out and fold carpet/mat. EOA valves are easy to get from under the cab right next to chassis node (note purple airline for dump valve on leveling valve and air supply for leveling comes from air dryer)

Thanks for another great video Brian and family. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Wow. Had a harvest breakdown on the feeder chain. Unfortunate but things like that happen. Glad your tech rep had the part and came to do the repair and get the combine going. Tough to lose the better part of a day but at least it is going again!!!!!!! Seems you all have had your fair share of issues with the new combine. Hang in there with it. That is the way it goes sometimes. Glad it is harvesting corn 🌽 again. That combine is really moving thru the field the way it looks on camera. Might be also because the yield is down some, hence can move faster. Believe you said around 120 to 150 bushels an acre. Am sure could be a bit better but no moisture this so yield is down some. Glad you found the electrical draw on the blue semi. Believe you think it is the starter. Jim traced it down. That will not be cheap-ouch!!!!!!!! Hopefully that will fix the semi problem. About it I guess. Hang in there with the corn harvest. Hopefully your yields will improve. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

I think I enjoy the simplicity of Brian’s videos. I enjoy the two from Minnesota cause they aren’t too far from me. Brain is in a completely different area of the country and I’ve always thought it’s crazy how small and odd shaped so many of the fields are. I live in the flattest area of Minnesota with all square 1/4 sections. So flat it’s less than a foot of drop per mile
