The biggest mistake I made in high school was not taking advantage of the free shop/trade classes my school offered. Particularly, Photography! In 1971, perhaps I would have had access to a Nikon F or a Canon FTb or a Minolta SRT. Back then, I just wasn’t interested. I’m 65 now and am a very late bloomer, getting my first film SLR in January 2021. The Canon AE-1. I now have six film SLRs including the Nikon F and the Canon FTb QL, to name a couple, and I’m crazy about it!! I now find shooting with my film SLRs much more interesting and fun than I do using my mirrorless DSLMs! Really enjoy your videos, Brian!

This is fantastic Kamerastore is doing this. But the one thing that I think EVERY REVIEW SHOULD INCLUDE is whether the camera they owned had been serviced/CLA -ed and/or the condition of their camera. If no one mentions the condition of their camera, I can imagine there being a lot of unfair reviews of cameras that haven't been serviced in 20+ years. I already see bloggers and reviews elsewhere online about film gear that is totally unfair because people have the wrong expectations or had a camera that really just needed a CLA and new light seals.

Hey Brian, as a guy who is in his mid 20's and that is starting to explore the wonderful world of exquisite machinery and optics that are still a creative tool for many of us, I am joyful to know that this video could bring more people to share the knowledge they got, just like you, and in that way, me and many others will have the power to choose wisely what we need, with what we got, because Knowledge is Power. Your videos have been the perfect guide for me to find a camera that suits my needs, got myself a FT2 and I can't wait to use it, but I will get it serviced first. Thanks a lot for sharing all the passion and love you have for photography! Greetings from México.

I think your two star review was fair, as it was not untruthful and you know what you’re talking about. It would sit better though once others have also reviewed it. Anyway your reviews have been excellent, thank you for that, this video, and your understanding of the potential of the database. By the way if it was not clear, for an item to enter the database, it must come into stock, though, it will remain the database in perpetuity, independent of the availability of the inventory which triggered it.

I spend a lot of time correcting camera reviewers in the comments section on KZbin and enjoy doing that. I like being corrected if I am wrong. I am 76 now and have been doing photography since I was 13. First camera Zenit C. Present favourite cameras. Mpp Micropress 4x5 and a 8.1 megapixel Ricoh gr digital camera from 2005.

Funny, I just went there and immediately went to Konica AR while your video here was paused and saw your TC review. I was intending to being with the T4, but there is surprisingly no entry in the database I can see for that model. Thanks for the tip. I like what those guys do and a greater breadth would be fantastic injection into that database simply as a resource. Cheers, Brian.

The T4 wasn't in production for very long and you don't see them appear for sale very often nowadays.

Thanks for sharing this website. Their reviews section is kind of limited though. I’m afraid the middle aged men will want to buy everything up 😉 I totally understand about promoting film photography to the younger generations. I particularly don’t like Lomography or Shanghai or Seagull films but I buy from time to time to promote any business doing film. The trick with Shanghai is to expose it for a longer time as it silver content is very low. I got some great results using filters and shooting at night

Middle aged? I just turned 69 yesterday. I grew up with Kodachrome and TriX.
