Now that he's backed out of that, it's not clear will happen. He resigned from the House, then withdrew from AG nom, to keep the Ethics report from coming out. My bet is he will not try to return to the House, because of that. And does he even have the ability to change his mind? DeSantis put out a statement on X that he would have the FL Sec of State schedule special elections to fill Rubio's Senate seat and Gaetz's House seat. Again, not clear what will happen now that Gaetz won't be AG.
