Walz is straight up nice, tried to find common ground (even with a guy like Vance), showing he would work across the aisle. That's important. For me, the J-6 answer was a non-starter. Vance NEVER answered one question! Everything he said was gibberish, he skirted every issue. All he proved was what a good liar he is. It was so frustrating to listen to him blabber on about nonsense. Walz clearly was nervous. He was honest and even admitted to being a knucklehead about being at Tiananmen Square. I appreciated that he accepted responsibility. Walz is a good father and a good person. I think it would have been difficult for him to lay into JD Vance in front of the American people because he has sons of his own, knowing he is old enough to be Vance's father. He is truly a humanitarian. That's why I like him. Tim Walz and Kamala Harris are both humanitarians, and that's what we need in this country. For the people! The majority of the GOP could care less about the American people. 💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊

Really? 7.1 million people are unemployed right now, record high gas prices, record high grocery prices, never got the free college as promise. Fentanyl killing millions of our people, at a record high rate. Back in 2018 2nd year of trump being in office, he got unemployment down to 5.9million, people could afford gas, groceries, & have a chance at buying a home. It takes about 2 seconds to do actual research. I’d look into it more because this country is failing, & will get 100x worse in Kamala wins. Sooooo….

I agree Walz had a better performance than Vance, but I am afraid he missed several critical opportunities to correct his opponent. He did not correct the false notion that Harris was the “border czar.” But even worse was Vance continually referring to the Harris administration and Harris policies. In all fairness to Governor Tim Walz, he did indeed arrive in Hong Kong back in August 1989. During the support protest of Tiananmen Square in Hong Kong. In fact, the Hong Kong student protesters constructed an exact replica of the statute that was in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. So Tim Walz did indeed witness an identical Tiananmen Square protest, but instead, it was in the centre of the city of Hong Kong.

People on the left are missing the positive of this debate being fairly even. We got to see what politics is supposed to be like without Trump. Even if it was even it was a win for Kamala. People are smart enough to see it. And they want it to go back to this. Regular discourse and respect. The few people I talked to leaned even further towards Kamala despite the evenness of the debate. Just because we want normal again. And how we get normal is dumping Trump.
@Rum-Runner
@Rum-Runner Ай бұрын
YES! While I think that Walz was unprepared for a debate against a much more civil JD Vance than he expected, I also think that it ultimately worked to the advantage of the Democratic platform more broadly. Politics can and should be more civil and more focused on consensus, and Donald Trump has time and time again shown that he is anything but. His strategy may have worked in 2016, but in 2024, Americans don’t want their gov’t to be shock entertainment, they just want it to be normal again. His absence tonight was a breath of fresh air.

Democrats could not pass anything much these last 4 years because of a Republican majority in the House who would not work with Democrats. Last year, they got rid of Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker because he worked with Democrats to come up with funding to keep the government operating. Republicans will continue to go after womens rights, and gay rights, and say that every person of color is a DEI hire. Trump called Kamala a DEI hire. They ban books on LGBTQ topics and don't want their children to be around LGBTQ people because they believe it will turn their children gay or make them want to change their gender. I live in AL and there are a lot of racist, homophobic people living here. This is a state that stopped performing weddings at the Courthouse so that they didn't have to marry gay couples. I'm really curious as to why you feel the Republicans will do anything for you? It really seems you will be voting against your own interests.

He watched his opponent, he used a lot of her ideas as if he would be using them if elected (not possible with the 2025 plan), tried to look professional, took a lot of undeserved credit for reduced prescription prices. IF this were the ONLY time I had seen him, I would likely not favor him, but knowing things he had said and has done,I find him ShaDy. He did speak often like Kamala.
