REDEMPTION! We ride our junkyard motorcycles over 100 miles to go get ice cream! This is a follow up to our last video where we bought these bikes and had them running in 48 hours! In that video we only made it 40 miles but now we are doing some work to the bikes to make them go the distance.
Watch the 48 hour revive and ride video if you haven't seen it already:

Restore them cosmetically on a budget, and see who can sell the bike with the most profit.

@kristiansandsmark2048 Although that idea could work on another set of bikes, it sort of goes against what these bikes are all about. We're in it for the fun and not making money on them.

They do deserve a make over. Not factory restoration. I was worried about you welding an old ally casting, especially when you have a spares bike, and disappointed you didn't grease the head bearings. Really, doing proper repairs just makes sense. You'll enjoy the bikes so much more. I'm sure Seth didn't really appreciate continually topping up his oill because his bike was leaking so much. Not changing gaskets is a false economy. Still, it could encourage him to get a real old triumph.

@leon0 In every single other video we focus on proper repairs, maintenance, and looks. These projects are not about that right now as the mission was making them run from a junkyard. We couldn't have known about the oil consumption when we got them but that has stopped. We didn't grease the bearings because of what was said in the video. This video departs from the normal content that you can see on this channel where projects take months/years and people get upset they have to wait for updates on them.

@@BrickHouseBuilds I think the best part was you did just enough to get ice cream and back. But they are running and it would be cool to give them a new life without going crazy. It would be a good example of how to take a rough bike and make it decent, not perfect. Just a thought.

Great redemption. I’ll have to go up 79 from Louisiana to Hannibal again & back. It just sucks there’s that hour of farmland in between. No ice cream?!? The whole set up was a sham. The amazing relief on a hot day that only an ice cream or shower beer can provide, and it wasn’t available. I think I would have stopped at Culver’s and topped the pastries off with a fudge Sunday. Cheers dude!! Well done. You deserved the scones.

I really enjoyed this video, thanks to you both. Laughed when you found out there was no ice cream. That's exactly the kind of mistakes of make. But please, a little more mechanical sympathy with these old girls. Fork seals, grease all the chassis bearings, fix the oil leaks. Proper regulator rectifiers for reliable charging. By all means keep the patina but make them work properly. Then go on a camping trip, carrying tent, cooker and bedding. That would be a hoot. And a memory for you both for life.

Apart from the initial tank mods 🙄& not 🤬greasing the head bearings. For some reason this annoyed the p155 out of me. I really enjoyed this project. I grew up fixing/learning on really bad free or cheap mopeds & small bikes. BUT I always cleaned them as it was easier to spot leaks, work on & pride. I fixed them up as best I could with whatever stuff I had available (again usually given to me). The point being they still looked bad but worked (mostly). May I suggest (part 3) going through both bikes properly (spend a few bucks) get them reliable, clean but NOT restored. Then a big trip to a classic resto show to upset the matching numbers guys. Also I found the biggest failing was usually electrical (or carbs) so why not make a new loom ? I'd watch that 😎BTW after years of big fast bikes & cars I now drive 1999 diesel car & ride old VFR's. Plus fix up (not restore) 70/80's small bikes for fun. Circle of life brah. Well done guys.

Why do people use soapy water on tyre walls to mount them on rims? Because it is a lubricant. Why do you apply oil when drilling through steel? Because it is a lubricant. I think you already know where I'm going so I won't state the obvious.

I would have probably used a super heated screw driver to make a hole in that folded up rubber inner tube. 🤔 Also, there's something about that bike you're working on. I kinda dig it.

I've never had good luck selling anything but I have had a Burgman for sale for 6 months with endless time wasters. Literally thinking about doing a Whistlin Diesel style video with it at this point

@@BrickHouseBuilds I sold a Grom recently with 42 different time wasters messaging me. Thats right, forty two! I’ve had a Ducati scrambler for sale for a year. My buddies VFR took 9 months to sell and I’ve seen the same bikes on Craigslist for 7 months now just sitting. I don’t know what’s going on but it sure seems like motorcycling as a hobby is drying up.

Typical old Honda's, they look like homely bums and have glitter where it shouldn't be. But they continue to operate without giving up. At least they didn't sound like a bag of hammers in the process. :)

@BrickHouseBuilds "JD" , i seen you Fabricate pans under the seat on a couple of builds for electronics.... you don't ever get to where any water comes off tank or blow up from the road to get in the pan?? and if so i see you have 1/2" to 2" Lip on the pan..... and no way to drain..... just curious how that works........ Take Care and God Bless........ Love the Honda 750four.... that was the bike a friend "Buster Crab" had in south Louisiana..... He could out run any one but the new Kawaski 900 triple two strokes.
