What's make it funny is "don't take this in the wrong way. But!" You're not a natural in front of a camera, so people find it funny because that's how the majority of us would act if we was shooting a video for KZbin lol that's you're best video yet! Keep it up man! Love your content!

I do like you alot , definitely a man that's hard not to like and what makes you different from all the other bricklaying channels is you don't take yourself too seriously and you also don't bite at everyone's comments and get ya knickers in a twist when someone else has a different point of view to yourself , I like that Alot it's a good way to be mate 👌well done I've subbed, all the best

Always used my own wooden ones but instead of putting a notch around outside for line I screw two screws in back of corner blocks for line to wrap around👍

Over the last 45 years I have built many houses, mostly mansions, Skyscrapers, detached houses and the odd bungalow. I have never used corner blocks. I just eye it. I always get it 100% correct. I don't know, it's just something that I have always done. You've either got it or you haven't. I've built extravagant buildings, Skyscrapers, multistorey buildings, all without corner blocks or spirit levels. And the finish is perfectly level. I once forgot my trowel and spade and I built an entire block of flats using a butter knife and a teaspoon. All perfectly level. It took me about 1 week. I don't mean to brag but I'm probably the best bricklayer on planet earth. I actually invented bricklaying in fact.

Good tip... always make these in the evening. Just in case you slip with the saw and gash your hand open.That way you can get down the hospital sand get stiched up, without it costing you a days money 🤓

I swear to Baby Jesus the intro is so accurate. I don't mind letting a few go missing but I'm not above having a tool bag shakedown if I'm missing a lot. Line pins are worse for me.

What if you cant use a corner block or vertical gauge at either end because you are butting up to a wall or fence? many thanks
@andrewbeaumont5492 Жыл бұрын
Use a nail. Mason nail in a brick wall & usual one in wood. You need to set your nail to gauge & level carefully, use a long level for a short distance, laser level if you have one, or a water level, if all else does not work for you for some reason.

Hi Rodian, I'm a big fan of your work. I have a question on window openings and I am hoping you can answer as it has been annoying me for days. Here it goes. With a 2 leaf building (brick outside / block inside) for the window opening must the openings be the same size? or is the (outer) brick opening 20 mm less than the inner opening i.e. to stop the window falling threw the opening? I hope you can give me some expert advice here.

Strangely enough I was putting a missing screw on the back of my late father's Blocks today. He made em out of scrap hardwood, the screw was what he wrapped the line round and he also did a cut the opposite way to what the line goes.
