Went on an architectural tour and a significant dove cott like this had been irreversally ruined by the use of cement mortar and modern bricks.

Nice job, but sorry to say disapointed with the jointing. (I'm guessing an old hospipe) Surely allowed todry and rub up / flush/ bristle would be better. 75 year old bricklayer..

Not a small job. I wonder if that structure used to be plastered over original.
That is not a cat print it's a joke from the brick makers, you squeeze your fingers together and press into the wet brick, I have seen quite a few of them in my time
