Lovely job. The only thing I’d say is that we did something similar a few years ago and the builders made us move the fence back to the original position. A costly mistake as the extended back garden was established by then and the grabbed land had to be returned to turf!

Looks cold that day 😱 Im no expert but digging deep hole without disturbing surrounding soil is the only way to go ( as you did) . I made a cracking hole drill from an old circular saw blade 8" ( youtube video) and welded long tube on. Using decent battery drill it digs perfect firm holes with no effort. Take 3" bites at a time and lift out soil. 👍

ive told you before steve ,ive been fencing years, and in cases like that ie with all that water and shite in the holes all youve done is kinda plug the holes with the post,s and post mix ,they will rock like the ones you took out if you swing on um,,,what you should have done ,is dug a hole 2foot deep by 2 foot across.then put about 10inch of conny in the bottom, that way it countereacts the weight at the top, like when you see beer garden umbrellas up with the wide concrete base no rocking then my friend, any how hope this helps

Here in New Zealand the standard is 4×4 posts, 4×2 rails, and 4, 6, and 8×1 boards all treated H4. All post tops cut on an angle for water run off. Posts set in concrete at least 600/700 deep. If a high wind zone we use 6×6 posts on the corners and every 2nd post.
