Bricklaying With Steve and Alex

Bricklaying With Steve and Alex

Күн бұрын

IN THIS WEEKS VIDEO WE DEMOLISH AN OLD CONCRETE POST AND BASE FENCE INCLUDING SOME GRAVEL BOARDS BURIED DEEP . SOME POST HOLES WERE RIDICULOUSLY HARD DUE TO DIGGING OUT OLD POSTS AND CONCRETE THROUGH PATTERNED CONCRETE SO THE HOLE HAD TO BE KEPT AS SMALL AS POSSIBLE.
WE USED 8 FOOT 100MM X100MM POSTS PLUS 3X 3 METRE ONES WHER THE GROUND LEVEL DROPPED AWAY . WE ALSO USED 150MM X 25 MM GRAVEL BOARDS REINFORCED BY 2 SMALL 100 X 100 MM POSTS .
THE FENCE IS STANDARD 125MM PRESSURE TREATED FEATHER EDGE BOARDS NAILED ON VERTICALLY WITH 50 MM RING SHANK NAILS FROM A NAIL GUN .
THERE IS A SMALL 900MM HIGH SECTION THEN THE FENCE BECOMES 5.4 M 225 X 75 LENGTHS OF TIMBER 3 HIGH WITH A STEP IN THE MIDDLE . LOTS OF HARD WORK WENT INTO THIS ONE ...ENJOY

I really like that fence. Very sturdy - will last the test of time as long as both sides look after it. Really, really smart job. Al, well done for all that boarding-top job. Look after that ankle as you need it for your line of work. Dave Birmingham

Hiya guys, lovely looking job that. Really very neat 👌 I've taken to using a 4ft farm jack to pop out the posts and concrete in one. It really does make life easier. I'm using the 9x3' as purlins at 6m long so you know what they're like trying to lift over 8ft high 😉 Have a great weekend guys Regards Tim

Little tip, rather than measure each pale in with a tape, I use an offcut of gravel board cut to 100mm, use that as a spacer and then use the level every 10 boards or so. Edit; just seen you did that later on 👍
