BRICS is merely an emerging economic and trading bloc at best. It is too culturally diverse, geographically dispersed and politically fragmented to ever become a strategic or military alliance. China's dominance will be unacceptable to BRICS member state, as compare to America's dominance of the western advance economies, Japan, S. Korea and Australia. The strategic, economic and military rivalry between India and China is a case in point.

As a native born American citizen, born in New York City in 1932, educated in the US to university degrees, I would like to join the BRICS, too, as an immigrant. I am fed up with the corruption of my country, the US. I am fed up with seeing my taxes flowing into the pockets of US arms merchants and generals. I am fed up with the pretense of democracy and individual rights. I am fed up with seeing the US making war everywhere, directly, by proxy, and by coups d'etat.

This is very true. Hopefully, the US will enter a period of isolation without membership in NATO or the UN and bring her troops home to defend the North American Continent. Then, the US can finally concentrate on Making America Great Again. Policing the world for the last 107 years has bankrupted the US. China or Russia are more than welcome to become the next world policeman. Historically, these two former communist countries are known as takers and not givers.

Turkey joined the wrong side in World War 1 because they thought they could grab back land and rebuild the Ottoman empire. Then the 'war of independence' started, just ethnic cleansing under a different banner. Millions of Greeks and Armenians died as a result. Looking at the occupied territory in Iraq and Syria just lately it looks like old habits die hard.
@cengizhandemirbas8641
@cengizhandemirbas8641 12 күн бұрын
@@gregorysurovoi3968 No. In 1913 the Russians were planning an attack on Istanbul. Turkey ordered 2 dreadnoughts from the UK to prevent the invasion. However, the UK seized those ships and did not pay back the money, which left Turkey defenseless against an invasion. Before this event, Turkey was trying to make an alliance with the allied powers actually, but all rejected it. At that time, there was also a huge German influence within Ottoman politics, as they were responsible for building the Berlin Baghdad Railway, modernizing the army, selling arms to Ottomans etc. Using their influence, and offering two of their ships to be used against Russia, they attempted to persuade the Ottomans to join the war and succeeded. The first operation the Ottomans did in the war was using those ships to attack Russian harbor to prevent their invasion via sea to Istanbul. And yeah, millions of Greeks and Armenians died perhaps, just as millions of Turks and any other nation died, which is what tends to happen when war happens. However, if we are speaking about ethnical cleansing, Armenians would receive the prize in that by trying to ethnically cleanse the eastern provinces of Turkey to create their Armenian state. They must have learned it from their owners, the Russians, who have done it for 200 years against Circassians, Chechens etc. Or their other owners, the westerners, who killed millions of Muslims and Turks (I specifically separate Muslims and Turks here, because they also killed their own people who converted to Islam) in the Balkans after the Ottoman retreat. Looking at what is going on in Palestine right now by the hands of European colonists, it looks like the old habits die hard.

@@gregorysurovoi3968not correct. Türkiye joined NATO due to the threath from russia. Ottomans fought them many times in the past, and as we Turks always says; russia has never left the thought of reaching the warm waters of the mediterranian. And the second reason were that the Turkish army was in bad condition at the time due to many wars and couldn’t afford to get into another conflict. NATO was a way to save some time to build up from scratch and get stronger, as it is today. When the right time comes and the Turkic nations announce the Turan Union, that’s the time Türkiye leaves the NATO.

Their Title is merely a LEASE Also note: That the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (which is the CORPORATE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and distinct from the United States of America ( which are the 50 Union States ) Does NOT own any Assets. Everything is LEASED The labor and possessions people of the 50 franchised States have been given as surety ( to the CREDITOR BANKERS ) for the CORPORATE / GOVERNMENT Debt ) There was no provision in the contract to pay the Principal amount of the LOAN ONLY the monthly interest. Which is where your taxes are going to --- " Paying the monthly interest ' and Leasing costs. -- And the debt keeps increasing as the GOVERNMENT keeps borrowing more funding - money laundering and skimming off billions every month - All participants becoming richer - while the people become poorer.

I am still grateful for so many things but when I learned what the White House has done around the world, it gives me a feeling of shame, anger and frustration. Turkey is such a beautiful country with beautiful and heart warming people, NATO has been using Turkey because of geographical position just like USA has been using the Zionist for its location. It’s like USA is not satisfied with a piece of cake 🍰 but wants the entire cake 🎂. I swear I wish I could go to the jungle of my Amazon and forget about this madness. @@darrylwikohika9068let's say that Türkiye would be an exception because of its unique geopolitics and multilateral foreign policy approach. On one hand, Türkiye has sought to be a full-member of the EU and been a "strategic partner" for the US. On the other hand Türkiye has managed to improve mutual relations with eastern world, to name it; Russia. Balancing east and west and policy-making in this aspect is an inevitable part of Türkiye. Also, no need to talk about the African-expansion of Türkiye which had been started in early 2000s and started reaping its fruits. Long story short, Türkiye is more than a regional power and seeking to improve its leverage in every parts of the world and this is a heritage of its great history. No worries, Türkiye has a huge potential to sign agreements or to join organizations because of these adventages and that should not be considered as a contradiction.

Appreciate that you're trying to be humorous, here, but your Mexico aside/reference is WELL wide of the mark. The outgoing Mexican President, AMLO, did a generally excellent job during his time in office, breaking with the corrupt, cronyism-tainted years of many of his predecessors. Also, importantly, he put his people first, not the frequently US-aligned rich elites who had traditionally pulled the political strings in his country. The very welcome election of his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum, along with the Congressional majority that will now be enjoyed by the AMLO-supported Morena party, bodes really well for the future of Mexico and ordinary Mexican people, generally.

There is a US air base in Turkey, common defense installation. Maybe we should leave, the entire middle east. We've made a mess there.

I think, this base is very important for U.S. power projection in the Region... It's been built in the early 1950's

Turkey joins BRICS or not makes no difference as either way BRICS will continue to grow & expand. As for America ... The future is not so rosey.

Smart move by Turkey, firstly, think for your people, your economy, for others and most importantly for world peace and not ganging up to bully, destroy and create unrest for other countries and stealing assets and money everywhere...
