Create a 3D Model using BricsCAD

I've been working my way through this (for my own benefit) and I've come to the point at 7:00 to create the polyline to help create the gap at the base, However, my lines just will not snap to the points shown in the video so I cannot create the shape needed for extrusion. The polyline just skips off in all directions whenever I attempt to create the shape. Do you have any advise?
