This is exactly how me and my sister are like. We’re very close and would do anything for each other even if it’s at the expense of ourselves. I don’t care if I miss work, school, or get in trouble somehow because I was with my sister. She needs me, I’m there. And she would do the same for me. Our parents are also like that. My dad can feel like absolute crap from being sick and he’ll still do things to make my life easier if I also feel like crap. I feel very blessed to have such a great family because all of my friends growing up had divorced parents or otherwise dysfunctional family dynamics. My mom wants to fight those parents and they treat my friends like their own children. I learned that from them and will do anything for them like I would for my sister.

@@angelwings7930 thank you I thought I was just being cruel but everyone is "like awww the sister blah blah blah" no the sister chose to not celebrate with her family. But for her father to have that once in a lifetime dance with his daughter it is a beautiful gesture to give him that memory. Cause that's who actually lost out bc of the sisters choices. Her father who now doesn't have memories of walking his daughter down the aisle giving her away dancing with her etc. she couldn't give him the rest back with her sister but she gave him at least that. The bride is loving, but I see this as a win a beautiful moment for the father. If the sister had regrets yes this could be nice to her but that's why you think thru your decisions and if you are grown enough to get married you are grown enough to realize how much a wedding isn't just for you. And I don't see a reason to jump for joy for the sister as the. Her sister's selfishness yet again took precious memories meant for others away.

Marriage isn’t about a ceremony or the party afterwards. It’s not taking anything away from anyone because it’s the choice of the ones getting married on how they choose to go about doing it. A wedding is not a requirement of marriage. Of course, daddies want the chance to walk their girls down the aisle and have that dance but for most of them, if they know their kids well enough, they wouldn’t be disappointed or too surprised if it never happened.
