I'm a former drunk driver (who injured only myself), and I never once asked why "it happened to me." I pleaded guilty and got my ass into treatment at the first opportunity. This chick and her father are absolutely infuriating. Incidentally, I was fully prepared to go to jail, and if I do it again, I will absolutely be sent to prison due to the DUI laws in my state. (I'll celebrate 10 years of sobriety on August 18.) The entitlement and denial on the part of these people is just pathetic.

Alcoholism is horrible. It's especially horrible for people that are impacted by the results of someone else's decision to get drunk and get behind the wheel. I am sober today by the grace of God and I'm very grateful that I never killed anyone driving drunk. It's still her father and I'm sure he doesn't want her to "unalive" herself because of what she did. Just because some people do horrific things, doesn't mean their families don't love them anymore. Tbh, my dad would be yelling, crying and screaming at me. He wouldn't get me a lawyer, even though he has the money for one, he'd let me suffer the consequences. But I understand her dad's behavior. I didn't hear him "enabling" her though. So very sad. My condolences to her husband, family and friends.

People take their own lives because of anxiety, do you think that's a crutch? If you've never been through what someone else has, then you're in no position to judge. People that do struggle with mental health are used to these kinds of comments though, sadly, and the stigma attached to mental health disorders, then they wonder why people don't seek help. Let's hope these calls ARE used at sentencing and the maximum term is handed down . The judge needs to throw the book at her whilst Dad needs to prepare her for a long sentence instead of coddling her like he has done, her whole life, insinuating their lawyer$ will help her to come home . The public are rightly horrified at this girls total lack of remorse and bad attitude. Condolences to Samantha's family suffering this awful loss 💔

There's not a high likelihood of a long sentence. Because I'm pretty sure those comments about the mob weren't a joke and they were just played off as one. The sheriff she talked to is Italian. Her entire defense team is Italian. She complained about the lack of variety of deli meats available in jail. This case is turning out to be a sopranos plotline.

4:38 ~ is she serious? OMG! That SHOULD have been the perfect moment for her Father to tell her that it didn’t HAPPEN to her. She made the CHOICE to get wasted (drunk) and operate a deadly machine. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree here. Dad is an enabler. I imagine she had NO consequences growing up. His response of “bad things happen to good people” is disgusting. Yes….it sure does….it happened to the bride, groom, the two other passengers in the golf cart and ALL of their friends and families 😡.

I hope the prosecutor will be allowed to play this in court for the jury. With a dad like that, I can see somewhat why she is how she is. Jamie needs jail time for sure and a long-term alcohol program. I do believe what she said about the Sheriff is what she said to her. Thus, the Sheriff needs to be investigated. My best friend of 30-plus years I met in 6th grade two years ago was killed by a drunk driver. The driver was 20 years old and had been at a club drinking. My friend was on her way home after having dinner with me. The girl ran a redlight doing about 60 mph, crossed over into the oncoming lane, and hit my friend head-on. My friend died instantly. The 20-year-old did not even have a scratch on her. My friend left a grieving husband and a 6-month-old baby boy. Like many who have posted comments on the updates about this case and who have shared about loved ones they have lost to drunk drivers, I know your pain. This makes losing my best friend raw again.
