"Crafting the Perfect Fit: Building Custom Extra Low Seat Mounts for the Bride Zeta3 Type XL Racing Seat! 🏎️🔧
In this modification journey, precision takes center stage as we tackle the challenge of fitting a racing seat in an even lower and further back position than standard setups. The goal? Ensuring both sides are at the same height, with extra low mounts that almost touch the ground, providing the perfect fit for individuals over 6 feet tall or those requiring clearance from the roll cage.
The featured racing seat is the Bride Zeta3 type XL, chosen for its quality and performance. The modification involves using 1.2 - 1.5mm zinc-coated mild steel sheet and 40cm square (minimum) 3mm mild steel slotted mounting brackets, all designed to Motorsport NZ regulations. The welding process, utilizing 28-30amps, ensures a strong and secure attachment.
Watch as the bend radius for the sheet steel is skillfully achieved using a spray can, highlighting the attention to detail in this customization. The application of Upol Weld#2 weld-through copper-rich primer adds the finishing touch, combining functionality with durability.
