I’m so used to the “none of my friends are allowed to sleep, or even flirt with my little sister” narrative, that I don’t even no how to feel about story 2. There’s something so icky about this step brother basically daring his friends to sleep with his sister AND break her heart. More than icky. Disturbing, really. How would the step brother act towards OP nowadays had his best friend not married her, I wonder? Also, when I was a freshman in high school back in 2003, a bunch of seniors made a bet to see who could deflower the most virgin freshmen. They got greedy, sloppy, and eventually caught. Just a guess, but the sisters motivation could simply be that she is a cruel person and treating OP badly gives her pleasure. Don't underestimate the role that low key sadism can play as a prime motivator. Why are there so many bullies and Mean Girls anyway? Story 2: Reminds me of the story of the young man in a gay relationship with a man 15+ years older than he is, where his husband was grooming him for his younger brother (who was still 10+ years older than OP), especially the updates where the OP was all like "I realized how wrong I was and that I really do love him", same sort of creepy vibes until finally the OP got away after his husband put him in the hospital and told him next time he'd kill him. You have to be so, so careful when you have a partner who is so much older than yourself. Sure it 'can' work if you're careful, but from the start you both are at vastly different points in your lives. Often the younger thinks they are too mature for men their age, when in reality its often the older partner is too immature for anyone their own age to fall for their bullshit. OP in this story is in a shitty situation, not sure if she completely believes her own story, but when you're reliant on someone with two babies, what choices do you really have?

I'm amazed by the idea of adults (even teens, TBH) celebrating birthdays with extended family. Other than cake and gifts with immediate family, everyone I know starts celebrating more with friends starting in late teens/early 20's. As soon as OP revealed that her siblings resent her for taking a lot of their parents' attention as a sick kid, I instantly understood better in a way that someone without an ill sibling wouldn’t. They're absolutely 100% in the wrong, but people don't realize how much a preoccupation with one sibling can affect the rest. Maybe missing milestones, maybe not taking as much of an interest in their hobbies, maybe even just a lack of emotional availability. When I was getting married for the second time, I asked my best friend, bridesmaid, and not moh to tell me if I started to become a bridezilla. My moh was my daughter, and she was not really paying much attention, still in school. My oldest stepson was also in the wedding party, but not best man, too young. According to my friends, I was not a bridezilla. Another friend was freaking out about her dress being lace, as was my wedding dress, and she was sure that I didn't want anyone else in lace. I shrugged. I mean, the bridesmaids, my mom, and myself were all in lace, it was in fashion, who cared. And she looked great.

It honestly sounds like OP was their rainbow child and the parents excluded her siblings who in turn took their anger out on OP instead of their parents. Even OP admitted they got more of their parent’s attention due to having a seizure disorder as a child. I just gotta call out all the commenters about the last story. We have the bare minimum of information concerning a relationship of 6 years. They literally went to couples counseling to work through their issues and, for everyone shouting "PREDATOR", 6 years to baby trap someone? Come on now. The therapist knows more about them and their relationship than we ever will, so if they were able to help them, there's most likely more than just the base elements mentioned about the bet. We don't know how he actually felt about the bet, we don't know if he was actively going after her, but even assuming he was, 6 years is a LONG TIME. Is the age difference iffy? Sure. Is it questionable for them to have gotten together when she was only just starting adult life? Absolutely. But keep in mind a therapist has no incentive to keep a couple together and will actively encourage separation if it's a toxic relationship. Whether he was never actually an asshole or he changed for the better over 6 years, yall really need to stop escalating bare minimum information into true crime level shit, and some of the comments really sound like they need to go work some shit out with a therapist their selves.

Wedding drama is simply a oxic narsasist sister great for doctors who need to think they have super powers to get over trauma they see but with a doctor sister myself, yes they can be extremely rude,petty and malicious for nothing. My sister isnt as bad as ops but she was horrible as a kid now just mildlu toxic and annoying with her better then you charitable activities because shes a goid person at heart but a nsecure power hungry narsasist by personality so gives off the fake nice vibes. Again its not all the time because she is a good person and very kind its just if she can get praised shell do it shes nero divergent as well so info dumps on family so talking on the phone is exhausting she never stops talking subtly praiseing herself. But since becoming a doctor its now medidical facts so less fluff and more medical knowledge. She hasnt done anything id cut her off for but is difficult to get along with as im a disabled nero divergent that taps out after 2min of one sided convos mentally. She has had some weird views with her marriage and kids but nothing crazy big.
