Someone I used to work with lied about his DAUGHTER dying. First she was sick then she "died". He had missed 2 weeks of work and was asked for funeral info to send flowers and such. He failed to provide anything. Then, when he came back to work, they asked for info to process bereavement pay. He said the employer was harrasing him, and they "would pay." This is a normal, legal thing to ask for. Unsurprisingly, the next day, he stopped showing up for work 🙄 . She is 100% alive. I saw her with my own eyes.

New rule for wedding vendors: Contract includes a clause that a death certificate needs to be produced for a refund. And it has to be of one or both fiancés (include parents or siblings, maybe?)
@elithasim3 ай бұрын
Majority of them only do a partial refund until a specific point leading up to the wedding. Venues get booked quickly. Anything after the point if no refund, is lost money for the wedding party because the venue would have made that money with another couple. Same with catering and everything. As long as it’s a legitimate business they can and will keep that money and can and will sue if they need to.

When I got married I kept it simple. Bridesmaid dresses were under $100, I let my bridesmaids chose whatever shoes they were comfortable in as long as they were black (no need to purchase something you already have broken in and in your wardrobe), I bought them all their jewelry to wear for the special day, they could do their makeup & hair however they wanted and could either do it themselves or have my sister in law do it in her salon for free (as a wedding gift to me). As for a bachelorette party I wanted to keep it simple, we went to a nail salon for predicures as we sat in massage chairs and then a nice dinner with a few glasses of wine, just a little laid back rest & relaxation. All my bridesmaids paid for was their dresses, they all split the costs 6 ways for food, invitations and decorations for a surprise bridal shower and split the cost of my pedicure & dinner for my bachelorette party. I did not expect any gifts or money from them, I was just happy for all they did and participating in my special day.

Was at a wedding reception in 1986. Guests and all were gathering around the bride and groom for the cutting of their beautiful wedding cake at a lovely California beachfront venue . Bride"s maids and Groom"s men surrounding bride and groom. The scenic moment was picture perfect wedding material. Great photo opportunities and memories to last to be had. Low and behold the bride's brother (also part of the bridal party) and a known serious problematic alcoholic. PROJECTILE VOMITED!!! Perfect timing and very accurate. The maid of honor got the most direct hit. Full on vomit splashed everywhere. The cake table, the cake, bride and groom, wedding party, a few guests etc... It was an immediate shock and awe chaos of course. The poor beautiful cake never had a chance. It smelled really bad. Barf was demon splattered. The barf brother though... Soon as he did his easy 6 foot plus vomit launch, he immediately turned away and acted like nothing happened. Complete incomprehensible denial. The groom party ended up walking him out. I don't know what happened after that. I left. Fast.

I used to take "at home" portraits for couples/adults (very EXPENSIVE) and I once went to deliver a framed 20x30 of a couple and when I arrived it was just the woman and her mother. When I unveiled the portrait they both broke down crying. The husband had died a week before AND NOBODY TOLD ME! They had paid a deposit and owed a hefty amount for the piece. I hung it for her and told her not to worry about the balance and left. I was so angry to be put in that situation the owner of the company didn't say a word about me giving the piece away.

It sounds awful that everyone isn't focused on you and on meeting all of your needs in relation to your big day... but you could in fact count yourself lucky if everyone shared your cousins POV. My cousin married into a culture in which everyone was focused on their wedding. It was a huge event and they were showered with gifts... and then it's over. The expectation is that you only get married once, then every weekend for the rest of your life is dedicated to buying a new outfit, buying gifts, giving cash and attending other people's weddings.

My friend had the best bachelorette party for her wedding (I was a bridesmaid). We went out for supper on the pier, then went to a drag queen show, then out dancing. She also did everything low-key. We paid for our dresses, but it was nothing extravagant, we each chose our own dresses as long as we all had the same color. It was great!
@beetroot71164 ай бұрын
In our country the custom for weddings is all expenses for the wedding (including the bridesmaid dresses and accomodations if any) are all paid for by the couple getting married. The only time it would be acceptable to have your bridesmaids pay for anything is IF you don't necessarily need them to be uniform and would just need them to wear a specific color. Basically, it's "you pay for what you want" situation, if you want the perfect wedding with everything being according to your liking, pay for it.

Oh god I am so glad that my colleague's wedding I was invited in went so smooth. These are stories from hell. 😅 I helped with some preparations such as decorations - tons of handmade origami birds (nightmare, but it looked very good on the wedding), I did bride's makeup for free and also helped the bride to put the dress on and off and change outfits during the party, also helped her hold the dress when she needed to use the toilet etc. etc. Yes we became even closer friends during that event. 😂 And when I told her I cannot afford to give any money as a gift to her and her husband she was so nice she told me I already did so much for her that there is no need for giving them money. Wedding was big and so beautiful, very good food, nice people. I would go again. She only needed some care and calming sessions the day before the event and before the ceremony because she was nervous. So no bridezzilla story at all. What melted my heart was few days after she messaged me thanking me that I was there for her and she could not do it without me. I love her. I hope there will be more wedding stories like this for all of you just with love and appreciation. ❤️

Our schedule is a bit wonky but it’s given me time to relax with my husband and I won’t feel pressed for time nor the photographer. I told him the one place that was a must for photos but he could choose all other locations (there’s 3 hours remaining on our timeline) and that he could use ALL of our photos for his portfolio. It’s going to be so much fun, zero stress and I get to wear my gown again! Plus the photographer is giddy about the free rein, he said he has locations he’s always wanted to shoot but no one was willing. Win-win!

I’ll never understand bridezillas. I had three bridesmaids and a maid of honor (we were all in college and I paid for everything out of my own pocket, my husband was in boot camp the start of wedding planning) and budgeted $30 for each bridesmaids dress, they all had nude shoes in their closet already, and I did their hair and makeup! I totally took into account that not everyone has $$$ to spend on a wedding, I barely had enough to do a small one for about $3,000 (MIL ruined that, but that’s a story for another day) and all my bridesmaids had different hair colors, tattoos (I specifically chose dresses they each were the most comfortable in as long as they were the same color I didn’t care if they were all uniform). We had so much fun without all the FANCY extra things. You can have a great time at a wedding without having a huge budget. Was it my dream wedding? No, but I did marry my best friend and we’ve been together 7 years so I’ll never regret saying I do. ❤ Maybe in the future for renewal we can just have close friends and family dinner to celebrate but priorities will never be wedding stuff. 🤷🏼♀️ That’s okay too ladies! As long as you and your partner and bridal party are having fun then it’s a success in my book. ❤ As always you are gorgeous Charlotte! Thank you for the amazing content. ❤
