I agree. If I had any authority I would federalize a fire and medical emergency agency to be able to rapidly deploy all over our country. We can rapidly deploy troops anywhere in the world to defend other countries but we can’t help our own citizens from natural disasters.

Why do people with no common sense live in fire prone areas and refuse to evacuate? It puts first responders lives at risk because as long as you're up there they have to help you. In the Midwest, we're used to tornadoes but we still go in the basement if there might be a tornado. You should do the same with fires.

Because right now as some people are evacuating, other people are rushing to those evacuated homes to steal as much as they can before those people can come back and grab the last of what they can bring. So they wait with their most important stuff till the last minute. Soo many people from the Blue Cut fire had their homes destroyed not from the fire, but disgusting thieves taking advantage of the chaos.
