Hi from Scotland GrizzLee, I used to watch your channel using a different account and enjoyed your trips into BC and further North very much. I see from one of your recent replies below that you're retired now and planning to put out more videos, I'm looking forward to them. For now I'm going to watch your old trips again 👍.

@@RubiKonAdventures I think you would enjoy Scotland, it's a miniature version of BC. We don't have many trails we can ride over here but we have lots of tiny lanes and backroads to enjoy. I'll be spending the holidays editing videos of my recent trip to Cornwall, 1850 miles on a little Royal Enfield 500. Thanks and enjoy the holidays yourself. Cheers, Mick

Great video. I enjoy that part of BC. My grandfather was born at Seton in 1898 and lived in Lillooet as a child. Was going to do the Highline Road today but couldn’t get organized in time. Keep up the great videography and sharing your adventures

Another good moto video Griz! Haha, I had to laugh about your one finger salute to the Nicomen River road [washout] @ 11:04. I feel the same about that road. I have a similar picture taken a few years ago with me giving the same gesture after a particularly difficult ride on that road after several days of heavy rain - the mud was brutal. We ended up camping up on the mountain since my riding partner's chain kept derailing off the rear sprocket due to all the mud. Shaft drive on the GS saved me in that case but it was not a fun ride for sure...
@RubiKonAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Wow. I wouldn't have expected that on the Nicomen. But that's good to know. Out on the Chilcotin plateau is where I have experienced that kind of chit. Shaft, chain, doesn't matter. It gums up your brakes, forks and calipers... not to mention the road dance that proceeded all that. It can be scary. Looks like you made an adventure out of it though. I want to go back and explore more of the Nicomen plateau. I've been told one can get to Merritt from out that way in the back country. I will investigate that someday.

I have done lots of mountaineering in the area. Been to the top of Truax as well as Sloan (which is the pointy peak in the background shots of Downton). Nice video makes me want to go back.

Looks like a great adventure/trip Grizz! Looks a lot like areas of the PNW and Montana. When I think of BC I don’t think of dry desert like landscape or climate. Sorry to see your friend had to leave u/return home. I hope his wife is ok. Your video makes me long for my next adventure next summer.
@RubiKonAdventures2 жыл бұрын
IMHO, BC is better than anything I've experienced in the states. Less people, more camping options, more wildlife, more solitude.. more of everything I love. If I could (financially), I would re-locate to BC. Thanks ~Grizz

Loving your videos; your rides are incredible. 🏍 How about discussing your methods for managing fatigue during those long rides and maintaining your physical well-being? Excited to learn from you!
@RubiKonAdventures Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, fatigue and stress are something I deal with on long trips. Even those long days with heat, cold, rain, etc. Good idea for a topic. I just returned from 30 days riding in the Yukon and Northwest Territories, and yes, that was very fatiguing, especially with the long daylight hours that play havoc with your sleep patterns. I just retired so, I will have more time to do these videos. Thanks for riding along. ~Grizz

the road up the yalakom is worthy and usually not bad shape, even more remote is from gold bridge west along south side of downton lake and into the upper bridge river, some side roads on either if passable can get you to even better hidden gems, enjoy.
@RubiKonAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yes, both of those roads are on my list. Yalacom will require my smaller bike to get up above there. Thx for riding with me. ~Grizz
