I've put about 8000km on these in the past 6 months (2018 BMW GS Adventure - 70-80% on road) and its a very decent all around tire -- as long as you don't go deep. 2-3 inches of mud, rocks or sand and the back just starts slips and you drop the bike; as I did many times. It's all good fun in the end, but I would recommend these Battlax for someone that may hit gravel roads and somewhat clean trails. I have to say though, very impressed in trails, but it really requires great skills with a heavy bike like the GSA. So I think next might be the Dunlop TrailMax Mission or Mitas E07 as they seem more inline with what I can hit while riding in crap. Great video.

Thanks for the great video and suggestion, I will do my last trip on my OEM Batlax a41, I also ride 90% roads, and the A41's have been AMAZING in my last 3 GS Adventure bikes, as I do long distance and most of the time, under heavy rain, and they are simply FANTASTIC in wet roads, lots of confidence at 80+ MPH under rain. However...since these are my third set on my third GS/A, I want to experience something different, even though...I hear, if ain't broken, don't mess around! Thanks again, love your videos.

Thank you for that review! I have that tire and noticed the tendency to slip a bit on wet/damp(?) street markings and especially on tar snakes. You mentioned "lots" of tires you tested that don't do display the wet slip scenario you mentioned. Can you say which tires don't?

The crash was caused by lack of acceleration. all the weight gone to the front tire.... Do your break or speed reduction b4 the corner and you will be ok.

Considering these for my NC750X. The Dunlop Trailmasters wore out in 4500 miles so I want something similar but longer lasting. I ride 95% road with an occasional dirt road when my friends go that way.

Hi David, thanks for watching our video. If we may offer up a suggestion, take a look at the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires. Those took 2nd place overall in our 80/20 (on road/off road) ADV Tire Shoot out. While they are pricey, we estimated they'd yield great mileage, somewhere around 9,000 miles. They were good on the twisties and freeway and then really excelled when taken offroad. Take a look at our results video if you haven't already. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZvXmH-wZrGdpKc If you want a less expensive option the Shinko 705 took top honors in our testing and we estimated the mileage to be about 7,500 miles.

Hello, the sound you are experiencing is understandable. The Scrambler and Trail Wing TW101 are a tad bit different, being that the Scrambler is more street oriented with light dirt work and the Trail Wing TW101 is slightly a step above that with more pronounced tread. Tread-wise the Trail Wing sits between the AX41 and the AX41S. The Trail Wing TW101 maybe a good route depending on your bike and riding style.

question - you are testing the tires on a lot of dirt/off road....but they are only 10-15% off road tires. Why would you use these tires if you are doing any significant off road? My riding is mostly mountain roads, some not great but they are concrete or asphalt roads, road, some sand perhaps and rain...but not 'off road'

Hello, sorry we did not test the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II. We can say that the Battleax A41 ranked at the bottom of our 80/20 ADV tire shootout where we tested the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR and they took third overall. That may not exactly help your decision, but while many people like the Scorpion Trail they are even more so street oriented than the 80/20 Rally STRs. I have the same experience with these tires on my ‘22 1250GSA.. noisy in the front aswell.. although I find the grip fine on dry tarmac, but not on wet tar or gravel/dirt. First I just thought they were slippery when new but now they’re broken-in and still slippery so.. that’s a no for me. 😅

I am not a fan, had them on a new gsa1250 have had quite a few slips esp in the wet. They seem very hard bit still are squaring off after just 2500 miles. These guys just spout off manufacturers statements. I won't be buying any more.

This tire is absolutely horrible in all conditions but dry asphalt. Even on a slightly wet asphalt after a night rain the front just starts drifting away in turns at a slight hint of active riding. Basically I have to keep the motorcycle upright in turns if the road is wet. I ride every day and even though I know this tire is horrible, I have at least one drifting away accident per commute in wet. This is the worst tire I've ever had, and I usually ride on knobbies. So it says something I believe. This is absolutely the last Bridgestone tire for me.
