That was excellent journalism great review of the product - not all of your colleagues put in the same dedication to the purpose of the bridgestone Portugal launch. looks amazing out there - great work. ps i'm not implying i did not enjoy watching the other videos. I have Bridgestone AX41s on my bmw scrambler even took it on a track day and they survived really well with no nasty unpredictable traits .

AX41 last as long as a chocolate fireguard. Out of all the tires I have used, these were done in a couple of off road trips to the point they were no longer of use off road.
@fpaquetАй бұрын
The front too? From what ive seen the rear lasts not that long but the front seems the get a longer life

Same. Good offroad though.

Easily the finest review / ride channel on youtube, by the length of one of Chris' wheelies.

I’m probably splitting hairs, but I think the roads around here in the south of east of france, and the mountain fire tracks, come very close to beating anywhere else. Feel free to pop down and I’ll show a few 👍😃👍 Really good vid though…..for someone like me who bought a 701 with TKC80’s and found that what I thought were knobblies, were like riding on ice, then bought an FE350 with Michelin enduro mediums and found it was on rails on the same fire tracks….. it was a quick learning curve that just having a knobbly tire doesn’t really “do”.

Absolutely loved this upload. Every single word that he said was 100% true, even about the looks of the tire, I'm one of them that thinks a bike looks cooler with the wrong type of tire.

Completely agree about Portugal being one of the best places in Europe for riding👍

Awesome video! As always, I enjoy your analysis , advice, and enthusiasm. I like tire talk. As far as the initial tire choice. The tires that came on my bike were awful. Loud and terrible tracking. Would I buy a set of these tires after that? Hell no. Always in the back of my mind I would think- what if I didn't like them? And friends have said there is a huge difference. No matter the stain is in my mouth. So, I' m not sure the manufactures are doing themselves any favors. Really doesn't make sense. Best!

I find this informative. Riding in UGANDA. AT41 would do very well.

Have the ax41s on a himmy 450 and theyre great offroad but after few hundred miles theyre already showing decent wear, especially on the rear. Would buy them again if they lasted longer, but will be shopping for more durable ones.

I know Gary would never let you say this Chris but Mitas Enduro Trail + and XT+ are the way to go. 6000+ miles out of a rear Trail + and 2000+ miles out of a Trail XT+ on a 1290 Super Adventure S. Both grip like dried shit on a blanket and do admirably well in the wet. I guess like your dad, you just ride what's on the rims 😁

Great place, serra da Estrela's mountain. Too bad that there's still an horrendous scenario from the two year's ago great fire that took this beautiful region his beautiful colours.

It's tough choosing a tyre honestly. Even more so when you're not going through a tyre every season because yearly mileage is low. Researching is not easy either as a new rider. Went from OEM Metzler to Dunlop Mutant because they look sweet and reportedly have fine grip on dry/wet. I cannot complain but that's not hard considering I'm such a newbie. I didn't even notice the dude fitted the rear tyre backwards until someone spotted it a few months in during a group ride!? All good

Ax41 are fantastic tires, almost everywhere. - wet road braking. - winter ice. - rear tire wears out fast! (500mil/5000km on a crf250l). - tire noice/buzz when new, but goes away fairly quick… + great grip everywhere else! + confidence inspiering.

Same. On about 300 miles and already significant wear.

Just come back from riding a triangle from Beauville to Perpignan then across the Pyrenees thru Andora and west to Jaca and back upto Beauville. 1300 miles, probably 50/50 tarmac & off road, reaching a height of 8601 above sea level on a CRF300 Rally shod with Michelin Trackers. Both bike & tyres excellent and roads that are like riding in paradise, might not be better then Northern Portugal, hopefully get there next year and will be able to let you know. Both my bike and my mates crf450 on knobblies were easily able to stay with road backs on the switch back tarmac and they couldn’t go where we went😁

😢 ! I love tire videos . I just got the 800DE, and im trying to decide if I want to look cool with big knobby's and throw away the little bit of cornering ability that the stock 90/90/21 provides . I need a tire for the sand of the nevada desert and the asphalt twisties of the sierra mountain's .

Brilliant as always. Don’t ride Adventures anymore. Back on a Ninja 1000sx all year and love the s22 rubber. Crf250 for off road, can crash it regularly without worrying and do. Not got your skill but like trying. Expensive to have fun on a Tiger.

Yes I agree, Portugal is incredible. Great roads, Great food and just awesome people . My current favourite place. Ridden through the standard France Germany Italy over Alps etc etc and they are really scenic but just not great biking roads . Northern Spain and Portugal win.

i'd probably put a Michelin road 6 or and older road 5 over that A41, but it's nice to see a review on tyres and type it's helpful. In fact i'd say that looks like a Michelin to be honest

I plow through the AX-41 Is about 2,000 miles (lot of dirt and good amount of road) it would be amazing for an updated AX-41 that updates the compound so it would last longer 🤘🏽🍻❤️
Hard to beat Motoz…Tractionator, Rallz, Hard Enduro. It depends on how aggressive you ride, but these Bridgestone are a bit on the soft side. I got 9000km out of my Tractionator rear on my 1290

I've got a KTM 890SMT with very sporty roads tires with amazing feel, Michelin Power GP. My question is: for driving on road, sometimes fairly fast, how's the grip and feel on these types of adventure tires compared to the Power GPs extreme grip and feel? I kinda want to go on some gravel roads, but don't want to sacrifice the amazing feel the bike has on road now..
@brandenhellman43818 ай бұрын
Pirelli front, Motoz rear for me.

Serra da Estrela's area. There's segments on the road the top (Covilhã, Penhas da Saúde) and on the top of the Zêzere vale (Serra de baixo), I believe.

"Squarer" profile and hard as possible pleaseso they last as long as possible. I wonder how many people give up riding every year due to the continual expense of only being able to buy overly soft tyres? In the 70s and 80s you could get commie-block Barum and Pneumant tyres which were hard as fuck and really lasted. Sure, they were not the grippiest but they were more than good enough for year-round commuting.
@richardsimpson379219 күн бұрын
You can get made in CZ Mitas tyres now...made in the old Barum factory and still very durable.

Put on a new set of rubber and the rider doesn't notice a thing? Some people must be pretty disconnected from their own nervous system. 😆

If they won't tell us what tyre they are selling, perhaps we shouldn't buy it!! Confusion? Sounds like a good marketing ploy to rapidly lose market share.
