Hey Bridget! I’m a first time mum who has been watching your videos since I was 27 weeks pregnant to help me prepare for labour and try to naturally. They really helped! He was due 12/12 but ended up coming late on the 20th. Thankfully avoided getting induced and he decided to come on his own. It was 11:30pm and I was getting slight stomach pains which I didn’t think were contractions as they just felt like I ate something bad. Felt a leak and thought it was my water breaking so went to the bathroom only to find blood everywhere. I panicked of course because it was like a super heavy period. I called my midwife and she told me she’d meet me at the hospital to check to make sure everything was all right. They checked me and I was already 7cm dilated! The contractions were getting stronger but I was alright. My partner helped me dance and sing through the contractions. I didn’t get my water birth which I had hoped for as I was losing too much blood but I still managed to go completely unmedicated. Luka was born at 2:50am at 7.7 pounds after a 3 and a half hour labour. He was super healthy and perfect but unfortunately I had lost over 3 pints of blood so we needed to stay an extra night for me to get blood and iron transfusions. Almost 3 weeks PP now and all is well! Pretty happy with my first labour 😊 thank you so much for the help. I am going to be recommending you to all of my pregnant friends!

I used to make a massage oil with Clary Sage and Lavender essential oil to ease menstrual cramps, it really worked!

I agreed with everything you have said here!!! I’m a wellness advocate with Doterra and I like to hear from other essential oils lovers about what they recommend and how to use it. ❤❤❤ Great work and delivery.

Thank you for the video! How can I use clary sage for managing the potential afterbirth pain due to uterus contractions? Would you suggest using diffuser or topical application with carrier oil?

Are there oils to avoid entirely? I love lavender but I also love eucalyptus! Is eucalyptus ok to use during labor? It sounds contradictory but it is both calming and invigorating for me.
@JessentialLife3 жыл бұрын
Yes there are oils to avoid during pregnancy. =). I highly recommend that people get a solid safety reference book (which I just did a live video on safety reference books I recommend as an aromatherapist).

A couple drops of peppermint essential oil on a tissue is the difference between me being a human and a low-grade-nausea monster all day. Yaaaaaayyyyy first trimester 🙄

Hi Bridget, would you difuse lavender and massage with clary sage at the same time? and where does peppermint come into the game? sorry but i am trying to understand the timeline of the application of the different oils as i am currEntly preparing for my own labor. right now at week 38😁 also can common coconut oil be used as a carrier oil for clary sage? wouldn't it be a strange mix of smells as coconut oil is veRy strong as well? thanks for considering my comment and thanks for your great video!
@emilynicole92784 жыл бұрын
Sina Widmann you can use pretty much any oil as a carrier oil. i like to use vitamin E oil or olive oil. my MIL is a certified aromatherapist and she uses almond oil. it’s up to you:)

I was told to avoid lavender during pregnancy. And my bottle says avoid while pregnant.
@hannahroseloftus974 жыл бұрын
Why is this? I have only lightly researched my self but I heard it was safe and have been using lavender my whole entire pregnancy and am 36 and a half weeks pregnant and so far my baby and I are safe and healthy. I am not saying it is safe, I just heard it is safe so I don’t want others to read this and think it’s fine without doing their own research.
@OhMyMamaBody4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am totally into EO for helping pregnancy and postpartum as well - why do they put that warning? Most probably because they have to cover themselves because some research out there has found that some EOs could cause early contractions. But from what I have read - only more a risk during the first 3 months. I think EO need to be more talked about to help pregnancy symptoms :)
@girlswear4 жыл бұрын
It’s the type of Lavender. Spanish Lavender, Lavandula stoechas, is not recommended during pregnancy cos it could bring on early labour, but Lavender (aka English Lavender or True Lavender), Lavandula angustifolia, is a safe for pregnancy.

Some are safe, such as lemon essential oil, as long as they are food grade.

Please approach her advice with caution, she does not refer to any evidence-based research. I’m not saying her advice won’t help, but there is no talk of side effects nor effects on endocrine dysfunction which many essential oils can cause

Clary sage and peppermint can reduce and even stop milk production
@CRUNCHYBABY3 жыл бұрын
I believe you’re thinking sage which is known to reduce milk supply. Clary sage is different and is known to promote milk supply.
