You realise that Olympic Games are named after Olympia where they initially took place, and that Olympia means ‘from Mount Olympus’, right? You will never guess who the Ancient Greeks believed lived on Mount Olympus. Gods such as Dionysus, Zeus and Poseidon. Who were depicted on this live tableau. So this has nothing to do with sexuality, and even so merely with religion. It was exclusively a reference to the origins of the games.

In Greek mythology, the gods are often represented to have obscene feast and depraved manners. Olympic games so were a period of intense feast. Commentating as a gay person, I have trouble to see the point that pro LGBTQ activists are saying about the on-going struggles of the community for inclusivity in France. That statement is laughable. France happens to be one of the most inclusive countries in the world. This was not a sign of inclusivity. It was mere tacky art created at the last minute.
