Got to use the speed to your advantage and run and gun. I soloed an elite boss when I first got it at lv8. Add the furniture where you gain health when your crew attacks and you’re set. You need to use range weapons. Once you ram then you fire from distance and come in once in awhile to ram and have crew attack. This is not a short range weapon ship.

my build is leopold 3 mortar for flooding and fire bombards 3 on port, startboard and stern and for the bow i have the scurlock long nines so none shall escape my wrath

Just remember when you're cutting through the open ocean on your brigantine doing 18 20 knots you're going to have to brace on The landings It's like the x games hell of a lot of fun having your ship airborne but you will destroy yourself if you're not careful
