@denisestickel6288 - Just to stick a pin in it, let’s mention the band. It’s Booker T and the MG’s, a band that has been around since about 1962, and the originators of the unique Stax Sound. With the exception of Booker T. Jones, the band members have changed over the years, but all members have always been among the cream of the crop. In the video are Booker T. Jones on the Hammond Organ, Steve Cropper on guitar, the late Donald “Duck” Dunn on bass and Steve Potts on drums. It hardly gets better. I had the distinct pleasure to have a beer with Mr. Jones in a bar at San Francisco International Airport around 1965 (I was underage, he was just old enough). This was a couple of years after his hit “Green Onions”. He was great to talk to and real nice man to a dumb kid, even though I was only three years younger than him. The backup singers… Peggi Young, Neil’s late wife and Amber Young, Neil’s daughter.

The fourth time I saw Neil he played this with Booker T and the MGs, 1994 I believe. Final song of the day, and my jaw is still on the floor.

Is there anything that this man can’t do in music? What an icon !

Always approaches the electric guitar with a raw melodic fluidity. And when he rocks iconically on stage, you think he's going to lose balance, but that's the cinnamon lover's style

And I thought Jimmy's version of this song was the best, and then I hear this at 80 years of age.

One of the most hardest things to be on this Earth, is a Neil Young guitar string.

This shows why Neil is my favorite guitarist. He plays with so much emotion. Some people just don’t get it.

Old Neil has done it again! What a tight band he had, back in the day. Neil was the best musician of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and one of the great rockers of rock.

Listen to Steve Stills "Spanish Suite" as good a piece of work as any you'll ever hear.

Sully Tyler : Agree with you. Neil has a distinct sound but not the musician Stills is. Young would be the first to tell you that.

Stephen's a meticulous player and clearly a superior player. Neil's all blur, energy and sleight of hand when he's doing this stuff. Listen to first Manassas album. A musician's album and brilliant.

@Scott Lane - just ran across this video, so a little late to the party. No offense intended, but I had to laugh out loud about your comment of “What a tight band he had, back in the day.” He’s playing with Booker T and the MG’s - ah yeah - I’d say that’s a tight band. Four of the best musicians you’ll ever hear. But they are not his band. Neil and Crazy Horse, his band if you will, are super F’ing good. Best musician in CSNY - surprised you haven’t gotten more comments challenging that comment. But hey, Neil is always a treat.

Well said, something utterly dreamlike about him, but so grounded in the here and now. Just rare stuff.

I've loved Neil for 50 years. An amazingly strong body of work. Consistently strong song writing. Consistently performing energy filled live shows. And consistently turning out the most inept guitars solos imaginable.

Neil Young was always his own man and I've always thought underrated as a guitarist in his own right, as demonstrated here.

When I was a kid in my 20s I thought, "Neil is a terrible lead player." One day when I was a little more mature I thought "But doggone, his guitar is totally distinctive...you can always identify it." Now I think it's brilliant work. But it took me a few decades to get here 🎸

@@louispatenaude2252 Don't forget Jimi. I count him as a co-author, he changed it that much. If it weren't for Jimi most people would never have heard this song 🎸
