Welcome back, Ladies and Gentlemen!
This is the carburetor of the 5HP Briggs & Stratton engine that I am restoring, surprisingly this was a lot of work, a lot more than I thought it would be!
Thank you for your time! Stay safe!

Anyone know where to get a rebuild kit for these old Briggs carbs like this one? I'm obviously not looking in the right places. I have a: 60102-1152-01-88101803 engine with this type carburetor. TIA.

Great job. That carburettor looks so much better without the paint.

I think so too! I don't know why people paint these carbs

Glad you are zinc coating the bolts on this classic carb those parts of it need to be rust and corrosion proof otherwise it Will be hard to take apart if those parts are not protected from rust and corrosion

@@AJRestoration you got that right A.J hopefully the zinc helps with the rust for along time if it can tolerate the heat

Absolutely amazing. It looks, and I am sure, functions like a brand new carb. Excellent work... I will have to try and duplicate your hardware plating. Thumbs Up!

Great work, do you have a recommendation on source for the diaphragm? The super cheap ones from China don't last very long.
@AJRestoration
@AJRestoration 4 ай бұрын
That is the only ones that's available. I have not had any issues with the china diaphragms. Could be the gas you use that's destroying them. You can find NOS diaphragms on ebay sometimes.

Lovely. It would be interesting to see how you tune these. I've invested plenty of swear words into small engine carbs, and have never been able to get them to run well.
@AJRestoration
@AJRestoration Жыл бұрын
It has only one screw to tune it unfortunately, so its pretty easy to find the best setting.

I have a 30 year old rototiller with this same carb. I just now had to replace the pump diaphragm. These are really good and wish they still made them like this. Beautiful restore!!

@@IPullingTractor If necessary just use a piece of glass or missor for a flat surface, stick medium to fine sand paper to the glass and rub the cover in a circular motion on the sand paper. That will give it a flat enough surface. Also I have never had to do this as the diaphragm acts as a gasket and seals pretty good. If this little cover is warped from the screws you know the owner or guy who put it on does not know what he is doing... at all.

Awesome job A.J. I’m glad to see you did not paint it. Are you going to use this motor for the grinder
@AJRestoration
@AJRestoration Жыл бұрын
I don't know why people paint these carbs. Yes I am going to use this for the belt driven grinder, I have a belt driven water pump that will also be rigged up to it when I need it.
