Ikr. Literally crazy ass builds that are far more interesting than half the stuff on KZbin. Next thing you know, they'll be splitting a V8 into individual cylinders and making a 1 cylinder engine off of them lol.

WOW, this is incredible! I will be making a vid to help get you LOTS more views about this amazing Briggs build! I started a Briggs V8 a few years back, but it was no where near as complex as this. You are a great designer and machinist!

Really cool project! Only fly in the ointment is there is no forced air cooling of the cylinders like you have with the original engines this thing is made from. Run time will be very limited until that's figured out.

8700 views and only 378 likes!? This man deserves way WAY more than that! Especially when there's a decent number of other content makers on here with thousands of likes that have far less talent! Goes to show how screwed up people have become! If he was a female jiggling ass for 8 seconds, he would have to open up a second back account for the cash flow. This man literally created a bad ass RUNNING V8 engine, including casting and machining everything in his garage at home! I'm sharing the chit out of this on Facebook. He needs recognition!

Incredible work! That is the only flat plane crank flat head v8 I know of. What did the bore and stroke turn out to be?
@Desmouffe2 жыл бұрын
I have kept the specifications from the 3hp B&S engines that I have used. Same stroke 44mm. Same bore of course (65mm) and the valve-timing is transfered to the new camshafts. So 8 x 150cc = 1200cc. The crankshaft have crankpins placed R,L,L,R. That was a mistake. It should have been R,L,R,L to make life easyer for the middle main bearing. But it runs....
@BaileyEvans2 жыл бұрын
@@Desmouffe Thanks for the insight. Very cool project sir! I have thought for years about doing something similar with chinese gy6 moped and pit bike engine parts since they are so cheap, durable, and in huge abundance.

How does it stay cool without the fans and shrouds?
@Desmouffe Жыл бұрын
To be honest, it doesnt. I only run it a few minutes at the time.
@mrjaylesmeister Жыл бұрын
@@Desmouffe I appreciate the response time, the honesty, and all of your effort. It's a shade tree engineering masterpiece to say the least. I'll never accomplish such an accomplished task on my own. I love small engines, and I love v8s. I believe it's possible to properly shroud and fan your creation. However it's freaking awesome just the way it is. Because if it's going 100 mph, it wouldn't need a fan or shroud. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

Any ideas about the power output ?

8 lawnmower-engines, 3hp each should be 24 hp. But i think the answer is closer to 15 hp.

What connects the engine to the transmission ? I’m building a Bolens ht20 hydrostat with a v8 .Any help would be greatly appreciated… Good job on your project….

I cut a hole in the chassie, installed two pulleys that turned the belt 90 dgr to make it go upwards. Look in my video "Briggs & Stratton V8 part 5"
@donpotter4893 Жыл бұрын
Thank you on your reply…I did miss that on watching the first time …one more question what size pulleys …
I have used same specifications as B&S so bore is 65mm, stroke is 44mm, that makes ca 1200cc

@w124mercedes7 Жыл бұрын
I think using a temp switch is a bad idea. The Briggs motors had air cooling it as soon as it started. Now you have less cooling air and more head to dissipate. I would wire the fans so they run as soon as the motor starts. And I would channel the air around the cylinders as much as possible. I have spent many years with air cooled motors and learned you cant have too much air or oil to cool the hot mass.
