Use a torch an heat up around the stud and you should be able to pull it out with vise grips. Also hope you cut the spring pockets so the dual springs don't coil bind. That would destroy all the awesome work you have done to these heads. Good luck with the racing buddy! Love these videos. Awesome work btw! Another tip you can do is cut the valve guides down flush with each port for a little extra flow around the valve stem. Just a little tip most guys don't know of or do.

Saw you had some more footage up and caught myself up with your mower progress. Idea I had on cutting the relief for the valve springs was try an annular cutter, if finding one in the size needed is possible. I don't have a rotary table (yet😁) for my mill, so setup would be a little bit simpler. Having the head square, and jog over to the other guide.

@TheJanticJournal rock on! I'm up in NH and just insulated my shed so I can work on my projects during the winter. It was not easy to get motivated this morning that's for sure!

What size cam did you go with? I installed the 308 cheetah cam and have the timing advanced one tooth on the cam. Was told by a race mower engine builder it will give me a little more low end torque to go along with the top end improvements

For porting i love the carbide burs 1/8" shank extended, i get them off Amazon cheap, cut them a little shorter and a dremel on med-low with those will port a small engine head amazingly!

I would love to see a video on what you did with the governor assembly. Are you bypass that and the decompression issue that these motors have?

I have a blown Briggs Vangaurd engine that I need pistons and rods for, any recommendations as to where to get upgrades that aren't crazy expensive? A $400 camshaft and $200 rods are out of my price range.

Trying to find used parts is your only option. Its a very limited market of aftermarket parts
