Is there a benefit to tapping the intake for pulse vs using the stock pulse location on valve cover

I just like being able to run a solid fitting and not having to mess around with finding a way to attach a hose to the samped valve cover gaskets on the inteks. It's also keeps oil out of the pump and from leaking all over the place.

@ perfect reasoning. I tapped my intake for it yesterday lol. I tapped the valve cover hole and the pcv cover hole to run nipples on them to a catch can

How do you do the wiring when using that starter? As far as skill switch and starter button? Same as with the stock starter?

Pretty much like stock except I run an extra button and solenoid to engage the starter gear before putting power to the starter motor. I was having bad luck with the starter gears stripping out the flywheel gear

@ so you have it setup to where it engages to flywheel and then spins? Interesting. I havnt mounted my starter yet but i did stick it up to the motor and it looks like it might mesh together a little too tight. May have to shim my starter out.

You can take a spare cut to length or stock pushrod, cut a couple inches off it, cut it in half and then thread each half, use a piece of allthread and two nuts and make an on the spot adjustable pushrod to measure. Idea for next time.

I’m building a brigs 22hp v twin and I’m not sure how to set up the foot pedal for throttle. It’s a speed way motors petal. But can you show me how you do the throttle assembly for racing.

591459 is the Briggs number. Just keep in mind its straight end with no boot. Not sure if they sell them ready to go with a 90 degree boot already on them.

Did you have to shim the starter any to have good mesh between the gears? I worked on and raced a friends SP a couple times and had to shim the starter with a couple washers.

Have you tried mounting an OEM starter on Briggs Model 28 ARC billet flywheel? Do the gears mesh?
