The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

Caught a bunch of those here in Hawaii. My biggest is 13# but they grow bigger. On really light tackle I had one about 7# at my feet and he went berzerk! Straightened my tiny hook (I was going for small game on a 7' ML bass rod) and got away. Nice video man! Love the flats as that's my backyard.

Bonefish are pound for pound the hardest fighting fish ever. I went fishing for them a bunch in sand Diego and even just a 2-3lb fish fights like a 10 pound bass. It’s insane. Not another fish that can scream drag like that

Great fish, awesome take. I get the need to document such an amazing fish, as I have before. Good rule of thumb is to hold your breath the entire time the fish is out of the water, just as it is. Also, bones don't survive well when rubbed against clothing which rubs off their slime and can can cause them to die later.
