Dude you truly are not just a touring pro but just a Legend. You are all over the Lynn Dollar Bassmasters. I’m in aw that you give us this knowledge. If you ever run out of ideas. How about a reaction video to an old video? What was going through your mind…you should do story time Check out what Millhouse does. Man the fisherman you have rubbed elbows with is epic. I hope your kids realize this with all the negativity.

Love the Fleck Spinnerbait! I was there when Danny and the Massachusetts team won that event on Winnipesaukee. My team finished 3rd fishing that thing. Winnipesaukee is as clear as a swimming pool, like 30ft visibility. The lake has a break line at 30ft you’d sit out in 60ft of water throw up into 20ft and burn that 1oz Chartreuse Spinnerbait back just under the surface, they’d come up off the drop and blast it. Cool event! Danny did all the club guys proud with his 2nd place finish at the Classic!

I've cought several 4 to 5 lbers in Florida with chartreuse flukes on the back of a blakemore Randy runner underspin 3/8 oz just trolling it off the back of the boat through key spots during the brightest parts of the day,in clear water empoun dments, where there is only offshore grasses, and sand bottom that makes the lure stand out better. I also have special.ones that are uv glow chartreuse, that I'd use,or pearl white, but the jig head is chartreuse. So those all worked well for me. Fan casting after I trolled around and found the magic spots. Thx Randy! 👍.

I've noticed the smallmouth around here either love or hate anything chartreuse. Maybe even anything bright and obnoxious? I'm not sure yet. Throwing a Mepps Comet in chartreuse at the river I fish this summer in Canada and it always produces. Sunny days, cloudy days, faster moving stained water and slower moving clearer stuff. I usually burn it back relatively quick too as I noticed thats when my bites came. I'll be sure to throw it this fall sometimes too and see if it still works for me or if it is just gonna be a warmer water type bait. The benefit of the river is that I can cast downstream and pause it where ever I want and just let the current work it. I've caught a few really nice ones this summer that I had a feeling were there but just wouldn't commit.

@@FASHIONEDbyFINESSE Misleading is a strong word. The authors of the study found a very, very slight ability to distinguish the two. They speculated that chartreuse dyes have a bit of fluorescence, so they may look “whiter than white” to bass. But, since fluorescence depends on UV, and water absorbs UV, the distinction would disappear by the time a bait got down to roughly 10’.

Call me crazy, I always start out with that color no matter what or how I’m fishing. Eggs, worms, power bait, jigs, I even have fly’s tired in popular patterns with that color. 1/16 oz jig in that color for fall cutthroat, go figure.

Eddie and it showed that bass can't actually differentiate the difference between chartreuse and another color, I can't remember what the other color is but to a fish char truce looks like a dark greenish reddish color, almost like a watermelon red color. If I can remember where I saw it I will put the link to the video in this comment section but they did a study over a year's time on four different strains of bass and they did a constant and had a bunch of different variables that they put into the study and it came out that all of them reacted the same to shark truce. The fish went towards the green and the red more than they did the shark truce I think it was 5% out of 100%, they went towards the chartreuse the rest of the times they went towards the green and the red

Bass were trained to go to a particular color for food. They were seldom able to distinguish between chartreuse and WHITE. White is a mixture of the colors that you can see. Bass see red and green but not blue. Chartreuse is about halfway between red and green, so it is a bass eye’s white. The authors suspected that chartreuse dyes are phosphorescent. That makes the dyes “whiter than white.” Of course, you lose that deeper than a few feet because water filters out the UV that makes phosphorescent dyes glow. Also, blues looked like darker greens to blacks. For example, a jerkbait with a light blue back looks like it has a medium green back, to a bass; and a black jig with a medium blue highlight looks like it has a dark green or gray highlight.
