I'm a new player but from what I'm understanding is that Brigs stun in Ow1 was just an ability canceler and was so sudden and it became very annoying. The difference now is that at least you'll know when she can stun and that's during her ult so now you'll be more hesitant to use your abilities and Ult. Besides you can only stun twice in the 10 second Ult.

McCree flash was a stun on 8 seconds. Brig was on 5 seconds, and on release it affected Reinhart with the shield deployed, as it was considered a melee attack. So owl had a lot of brigs stunning enemy rein before ally rein shattered. At least they removed the ability to stun through shields later

People are more upset that rally already allows you to basically walk at the enemy. Now with the stun back and bigger shield it will allow less counter play against that walk. Stun to cancel abilities and secure kills and bigger shield and armor to make her harder to kill. I'm not sure how the comp scene is right now since I stopped when OW2 decided my gold OW1 rank was bronze 5 but even in qp when brig rallies it's always been a good plan to kite it. Now you HAVE to kite it.

Stuns made the game much more tactical: it punished reckless, thoughtless behaviour. As long as you used your brain and understood the risk-benefit ratio of your actions, there was nothing wrong or frustrating with stuns. People complaining about stuns were essentially a vocal minority unwilling to think things through before acting, the kind of players mostly only interested in "fragging" unhampered, and whining whenever they were prevented from getting easy kills. In 1500 hours of OW1, I hardly had to complain about stuns either as a tank, dps or support, because: 1) I usually wasn't stupid and reckless enough to get myself in a situation where I would get myself stunned 2) when I wasn't stupid and reckless but still got stunned, it just meant I got massively outplayed by my opponent 3) and when I was stupid and reckless enough, I was rightfully punished for it So, basically, working as intended. The removal of stuns (and transition to 5v5) led to what we have now: a rather bland, standard, fast-paced shooter. Essentially a downgraded version of Overwatch, with minor worthwhile upgrades.

i think you're right, now that it's 5v5 and the pace is faster her aoe isn't as effective. Giving her a stun and bigger shield pretty much gives her more survive ability. Not as much as Lucio or Zen's ult but pretty close. If anything her ult is more of an offensive support, then defensive now. Hope you're doing well Andrew, killing it as always

I think it shouldn’t be insane bcz it’s only in rally and rally lasts 10 seconds shield bash has a 5 second cooldown so you MIGHT be able to get 2 stuns off before rally ends. It should be absolutely fine. Yea you pop rally to stun someone out of an ult but I mean that’s on you if the brig can get to you in the first place.

Rally was seen as awful because of armor getting removed since the Lindholms aren't allowed to provide it and people are freaking out about this when you're probably only gonna see it three or four times a round for around seven seconds each like the usual ult which is supposed to be stupid strong for only a few seconds.

I think it'd be fine if it was just a further knockback when she Rallies and I can see them changing it to that. The stun just feels weird, especially now it's only on a 5 second cooldown whereas in OW1 it was 10 seconds. Also the new wide shield just looks odd, it looks like they just stretched the shield out because the corner pieces look distorted.

why are people so opposed to stuns? its not like you die from a stun, hell in most cases if you're with your team you get a chance to survive it anyway. and its not like Ana or Sigma doesn't exist, Ana can sleep a target for ages and sigma's rock knocks you on your ass. dont hear people complaining about them! and they're just abilities, Brig needs to use her ult to stun. And its only for like less than 1 sec.

All the stun adds is the potential to secure a kill. Yeah you can cancel abilities but 100% it's just to help her kill something cause that's what was lacking in her ult IMO. Rally has always been a strong support ult now its going to be even stronger. Honestly with Mercy being trash again I'm glad I have a good comfort pick in brig.
