Check out "God Friended Me" on CBS ( you can view episodes on their website). Great show! Brand new last Fall. No, it's not a churchy-feely show, it's a reality based on a professed atheist (with a priest for a father) and how God uses him to help others and change the world. Probably won't last long because it is clean and uplifting, but it's fantastic! Also, "Heartland" offered by CBC (Canada) is a winner! They're loved by the world and are in their 12th season. You can watch it on PureFlix.com and on KZbin (just the earlier seasons). Great, wholesome, uplifting entertainment. :-)

@PDippy77203 жыл бұрын
@@tammyh.9015 So wait…people weren’t selfish and materialistic before or during the Great Depression? Because there are countless pieces of evidence disproving that. You think the Depression brought people together? How’s about the fact that the FBI had to be formed just in response to all the bank robberies? What about the record-number of men who abandoned their families? How about the fact that one of the big reasons for the Depression was the greed of the 1920s and the illegal investment practices of the tycoons of that era (such as shortening and insider trading in general)? And if you don’t think most people still see the value in the family unit today, then I don’t know what to tell you, because you’re just rejecting reality.

Ah man, makes me cry. I was born in 1972, and grew up watching Little House on the Prairie. It was mostly in daytime reruns in the early 80’s, about 4 p.m., after school. I loved the family dynamics. I saw The Waltons come on in reruns, too, but didn’t really get into it. I think most of the kids on the show seemed a bit too old to catch my attention. But the house, the farm yard, and the vibe of that show rang more true to me as I got a bit older. My grandparents were born in the early 1930’s, and they grew up in farm country, with similar houses, yards, and mannerisms that were well represented on The Waltons. Many of my best memories growing up were on that farm, surrounded by all the great aunts and uncles, and church-going lifestyle. I’m very nostalgic as time goes on, and I have come to absolutely adore this show, not only for its great writing and acting, but how much it feels like MY home and memories. Thank you for the video, and seeing how much love they had for each other even behind the scenes. I realize I’m heading into the middle of my life, with as much behind as ahead. Does anyone else miss the earlier times? I know to some viewers, growing up in the 70’s and 80’s doesn’t seem “earlier days”, but some days it overwhelms me to see how quickly time passes.

I'm SOOOOO glad that MeTV started showing "The Waltons" reruns again. With ALL the CRAP shows on television today, "The Waltons" has easily become my favorite "Go To" show when I want to feel good. Where are shows like this today ??? Our country NEEDS them !!!!!!!!!!
@zachredner84 жыл бұрын
Amen Maurice! 99% of the stuff on CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. is ALL GARBAGE and NOT even worth watching. The main channels I watch on TV is "MeTV, Antenna TV, Grit, Start TV, ION, and others that all play "Old Shows." Or in other words, "GOOD SHOWS."

Such wonderful memories watching the show with my family. I had 4 brothers and 5 sisters all 1 to 2 years apart. We adopted the nightly routine of good night, John boy..... It was good memories!

This is one of my favorite shows today and as a child. It's unfortunate that there aren't more television series of this magnitude today.

I bought the whole series as a Christmas gift to me in 2013. I watch it all the time especially now (2022) with all the craziness happening. I use to watch Hallmark Christmas movies this time of year but they just aren't cutting it. The Waltons are my leveler in life. That final scene with John-boy has me in tears each time.

I am glad I grew up during this show. It really kept us in check with life by teaching us all at least one good thing in life in each episode. We lived fairly close to this until the 80’s came and we all went our separate ways and unfortunately technology took all of us away from each other. But during those times we really enjoyed watching this show every week and it made our holidays even better.... Yes we had the last of the good times as today in 2020 everything is out of control ... I miss those morale and ethical days here in America...God Bless us !

Think everybody watched The Waltons back in the seventies in the U.K. 'cos we didn't have many channels to choose from - not like the multitude today. It was shown on a Sunday evening, and was a mellow and wholesome end to a week.However, in my mind that iconic and instantly memorable theme music is forever linked to the sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that the weekend was over, and you had to go to school the next day - boo!

I enjoyed this show as a child back in the 70's. Two days ago I found it on amazon prime seasons 1-9. What memories, I enjoyed each and every actor or actress on this series. I would like very much to meet these people and thank them for a show that I still enjoy 40+ years later.

I have the entire series and when I get tired of the craziness in today's world I will watch episodes. We used to watch it in the 1970's in the evening as a family and I feel as if they are also my family.

It was around 2001, I got to attend a can't club reunion with the whole cast. The transparents had passed away, not very many fans were there and we got to sit at the tables and dine with them. Could ask questions and take pictures. They were all very kind. Mary McDough loaned her car to the fan club president to take me back to the airport.

A joy to behold. Weekdays, on ME TV at noon in CA. Forget words like "wholesome", "family values", the show is plain compelling. Olivia is an especially interesting character. I find myself focusing on the reactions of Michael Learned to everything. Just how much is she willing to put up with? Always captivated by Richard Thomas. I'm noticing the intelligence of Jason too. Everybody. Ashley Longworth, the whole cast!

@@BG3Productions I am an old soul at heart and watching The Waltons makes me yearn for a time depicted in this program. The simple life, yes, of struggles, but also a time of community, faith, and love. Today's society is so far from this. It truly saddens me.
