It really reminds me of those Barbie/Spongebob/Pokemon digital cameras, maybe this was after 2001 - doing a quick google search its revealed to be from 1998. Also check out this website www.digicammuseum.com/en/cameras/item/mattel-barbie-digital-camera - Maybe there is a way to contact people involved in this project to learn more about it.

Nice beard and cute lady friend ;) You'd be surprised how much digital camera costed in 2001, I'd guess 150 to 200AUD

I say that because I bought a gameboy camera around the same time and it was the cheapest, less then 100AUD

A name brand digital camera probably cost a lot more than that in the early 2000's too. This thing is very obviously budget - I'm hoping someone who bought one originally can shed some light on the price.
