We cruised on the Serenaded of the which is the same class as the Brilliance. We loved the ship and our balcony cabin. These older ships have an elegant old school kind of feeling. Theses older ships also have an amazing amount of storage.

My husband and I took our very first cruise in 2009 on Brilliance. Loved the ship it was a great introduction to cruising. We have cruised many times since including on the newer bigger Royal ones. I wish they would build a few more ships the same size as Brilliance instead of more and more “ginormous” ones. My answer to your question re cabinet decor - definitely prefer the older Brilliance one.

I agree! We need some more well designed mid-size cruise ships and not just bigger bigger bigger!

I was on Brilliance last week on a trip to Alaska and I loved it. I was on deck 7, the couch was half the size as yours but the balcony was extendee about three feet further

The darker tones age the cabins but I have to say I think I prefer it , instead of all looking bland beige , grey !! We definitely have a messy , whatever corner or chair . Would lose everything otherwise 😜.

We saw this ship in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia) Feb 2024. We fell in love with it from first sight. Unfortunately she is leaving our market so we missed the opportunity 😞 Love the look of the cabin.

We had this same cabin on Serenade. Loved it. Felt spacious. Nice to have a full size sofa.

We absolutely have a "whatever" area. Every time. We also bring a collapsible hamper for laundry so THAT doesn't end up in the whatever area, hehe.

Hi Morgan, I prefer the darker, more traditional look of your cabin, and I love the size of the ship. I did a cruise in 2019 from Vancouver BC to Alaska and then a Trans Pacific cruise to Sydney Australia on the Ruby Princess for a total of 35 days and I loved every minute of it and would highly recommend it to you for a future cruise adventure. I sailed solo but quickly made some good friends.

Definitely a "whatever" area by day 3 or 4. I get lazy. The darker tones of the wood make the room look more classic, not trendy. I was on Indy years ago and it was not my favorite. Love the new layout and colors in the newer ships. The closets on either side of the bed or couch make the room feel more spacious and I absolutely love having a separate dresser. My favorite. The glass showers are wonderful.

The lighter woods reminds me of the golden oak kitchen cupboards of the 90s. That couch looks like a real couch, not the plasticy couches they use now. You need a rechargeable fan! I bought one that lasts about 9 hours

Just sailed on Adventure! and we had the same cabin! I hated it!!! I have three huge boys! in that small room, it was brutal and 8 night cruise!!! lol but we had an amazing over all cruise! Plus our shower had what I call the Clamshell door.....

"Whatever Area" - the couch is primarily for clothes I've worn for a few hours but not long so not yet dirty. I used to change clothes 4 or 5 times each day on a cruise. It was fun. As I cruise more (or get older), it's just an unnecessary allotment of time.

I’ve been on a couple of RC ships like this-in fact I’ve been on that ship. I’m pretty fluffy but I prefer the showers with a door rather than a curtain. It just makes a big old mess & sticks to my body.

That stateroom looks small especially the bathroom. I have not been on the small RC ships. I have been on many voyager class and up except Icon. I really loved Freedom's size and stateroom but that was a while ago. Bon Voyage!

That is a very old style cabin. Had one pretty much identical in 2013 on Radiance of the Seas. Hasn't been updated in years.

Nice, detailed stateroom walk-thru - thanks Morgan ! May I ask if you experienced any sounds coming through your stateroom and the adjacent stateroom via the connecting door ? Cheers !!! marcia
@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides2 ай бұрын
We noticed a little bit from our neighbors, but nothing too disturbing. I guess it really depends on your neighbors, to be honest! On the Harmony of the Seas, I had not connecting door, but I still heard my neighbors all the time because they had their TV on full blast and then yelled at each other over the volume :-/ You just never know!
@marciasanguinetti39002 ай бұрын
@@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides Thank you for your honesty ! As always Morgan plus I love how positive attitudinal you are making lemonade out of lemons 🙂 You have asked over the course of many videos as to what pet-peeves we have as cruisers, and noise from adjacent staterooms and their verandas are my big PEEVE. If I had to choose a stateroom under the pool deck with the occasional chair-scrape noise or under a restaurant with carts rolling over my head - I'd choose inanimate object noise every time. I absolutely have to select our stateroom myself, which isn't the most economical decision, but frankly spending a hundred or so bucks more to secure my preferred locations are worth every red cent, And what you described with thin-walls and/or connecting doors is quite annoying, rude, clueless, all-about-me behavior that really is bottom line: ill mannered. Let me say, we have had similar experiences to yours for sure, and we just say What-Eva!!! honestly just like you do - which when I heard to say this the first time awhile back, I fell off my chair !!! Lastly Morgan, if you ever want to reach out to me to ask where the quietest cruise staterooms are located on the 3 lines we cruise the most (Celebrity, Princess, HAL), I can tell you which ones will give you peace, solitude and the ultimate relaxing cruise experience. We have cruised so many times on all their various ships I've lost count LOL !!! Cheers to you and yours, to life, and to the best life to be !!! Marcia and Timbo

I haven't been on any cruises, so I am curious, on a cruise across the Pacific, where does it re-fuel? Are the tanks larger on some cruise ships, or are they all the same?
@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides7 ай бұрын
The ships can "bunker" enough fuel for more than a week at sea. On a transatlantic crossing from Florida to Europe, sometimes the ships sail 9 or 10 days without stopping on land.

Speaking as a representative of the "Big Ol' Butt" society, I can safely say, I would HATE that shower. Thank you and good night.
@feelosophy19217 ай бұрын
Darker brown woods look more luxurious I think. I don't care for the shower curtains because they seem to always stick to me. Such an icky feeling. My partner would have to drench that entire bathroom as the shower curtain would be left open. It's a plus for him to have space to stand half way in and half out.

Oh yes, the couch is used for "stuff" not for sitting.

@debbie89357 ай бұрын
Many use the showers in the gym area.
@VeryunOfficialTravelGuides7 ай бұрын
I often use the showers in the gym area just because they are usually better in every way than the ones in the cabins!

I am far more concerned about the layout of a cabin and give zero flips about the decor. I'll be there a couple weeks, max.
@nancyt25397 ай бұрын
Looks like a nice ship cabin. I know on older ships there will not be plugs next to the bed and i can adapt to that. I'm not a fan of when they put the phone on the nightstand. Those are small so I'd rather put my book or other stuff on a nightstand. My thing is "Nancy approved nightstands". Said night stand should be at least as high as the bed. It should have space for my phone, my book and a chapstick. A shelf, drawer or cubby is great. I hate Carnival's night stands on their newer ships - wtf are you going to fit on that. Really useless. All part of shrinking cabins so they can jam more cabins on the ship. Princes has the best nightstands.
